What Are Your Fears For KOTOR 2?
Volourn replied to Bastilla_Skywalker's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
No fears. The game will play, run, and feel exactly like KOTOR most likely with just a new story. It's a sequel so don't expect a brand new experience. Just enjoy it for what it is. The biggest pox on it is the super overdrived levelling... -
Talk about bugs in KOTOR make me chuckle. I have an ATI card; and I had on "major" bug. A constant crash when tryoing to escape Taris At first, i wasn't too please with BIO. So, I posted on the BIO baords. I was politely informed by a **** to update my driver. I did so, from then on, the game ran pretty much perfectly. Veryf ew slow down,s I believe maybe one crash, and one very minor graphical glitch were your PC sometimes skids forward where you cna't move witrh that happening maybe 2-3 times. Not eaxctly a bundle of problems. If you want problems, play a Troika game. Play POR2. PLay ES series games. BIO's games may have bugs and problems but they aren't nearly as bad as their compeitiors and unlike others they'll patch it plus unlike a certain other company they won't hide from players by not having a message board so you can't rant at them. R00fles!

Muad'Dib: I have no problem with people inlcuding you disliking IGN. My point is the faux pas attutuide of 'not caring' yet posting in a thread dedicated to the IGn review is just plain silly is all. If one dislikes IGn for whatever reason; good for them. "because KotOR, like most stuff from bioware, is a buggy mess pure and simple, and the many people having serious problems with it, (just look at the older posts in the bioware forums, before everyone gave up), is proof." HAHA! That's hilarious. BIo's actual rep is actaully diffent than what you are saying. They tend to have a reputation for relatively bug free games. Yes, they have bugs, and some big ones at that; but relatively speaking, BIO's games are bug free masterpieces if you compare them to their competitors. Don't confuse the 10 or so people with major bug problems for the thosuands who got away scott free or almost scott free. It is simply scary that a seuqle with basically the same engine might actually be more buggy than the predessor. From what I've seen and heard, KOTOR2 will come up with the following: KOTOR2 is a sequel. It improves on lots of things; but that's counter baalnced by the fact that it *is* a sequel and will feel like 'more of the same'. It won't have the "wonderous" "new" feeling that KOTOR1 had no matter how good it may actually be. I wager quality wise it's better; but it may not "feel" better in the long run to many people.

"Thankfully not you." Praise the Heavens, and Curse The Hells! Thankfully indeed.

"Volourn: He's got as much right to his opinion as you do yours or IGN's, I'm certain if 2 different people at IGN reviewed the game they'd give it different scores and have different impressions of the game, after all a review is always subjective to the tastes of the player. Frankly I myself care nothing for IGN's reviews, or any ohters for that matter, I disagree with their reviews more than I agree. Is my opinion any less valid because I'm not paid to review the product or isn't posted in an official capacity? You like IGN good for you, no need to attack someone who doesn't. " You miss the point the point. It wasn't that he was complaining about the actual review I was commenting about it. It's the 'Who cares about IGN" comment that got me. If he truly didn't care about IGN or their reviews why did he bother to spam this thread. It's obvious he cares about IGN or else he would have not posted in this thread at all. I bet he even read the review, saw the negativity (in spite of the actual score) and is now taking a tantrum because IGnw asn't 'gushing" over aspect of the game. It's not a matter of me liking IGN or not either. I think of them as any other other reviewer - either professional or player. Just some fountain of game knoweldge I can read while I wait for the games I'm interested in. "Yep we all have opinions. Volourn is just an idiot. Simple." Yet when one disagrees with yours; they automatically are an 'idiot' or not worthy. R00fles! Again, ia sk, who are you? <_<

"Who cares about IGN. Their site is not that impressive nor their reviews." Who are you and why shoudl we care about your review of IGN's review? It was written. My *only* complaint is the score doesn't really match the review. It's a good thing that the score is 8always* secodnary to me. Overall, they liked the game but have some problems with it. Big whoop.

With all the negatives they mention it sure doesn't seem like it deserves a 90+ score. R00fles!

I never thought i would say this
Volourn replied to Ronil Organ's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
"We don't make posts about it. there are like 15 post about this thing..." You weren't around for the announcement were ya? Allw e head was the whiny PCers drowning out the excited X-boxers. There is nothing wrong with x-boxers being excited about the game and sharing that with others. Afterall, that's part of what message baords are for. Don't need to read a whiny "boo hoo little me" posts every time an x-boxer celebrates a soon to be released game for them. Geez.. -
I never thought i would say this
Volourn replied to Ronil Organ's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
"Why can't the Xbox users simply shut up???? Do they really need to remind us our torture?" Why can't my fellow PCers simply shut up???????????????????? Do they really need to remind everyone of how awfulk their lives are because they gotta wait an extra few months?????? -
A guy at the IGN message board has the game.
Volourn replied to TheAco's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
It actually seems authenetic. Good for him and scew x-box. -
"I just count the time I am infront of the screen, personally." R00fles! in game clocks are notoriously untrustowrhty. They lie. Big time. Don't go by that. At all. Ever. "133 hours and 25 minutes" R00fles! My first time through took 30-40 hours. I like tot ake my time. People who rush through dialogue and skip stuff just to 'finish the game" are just silly, imo.

Not a Designer Rambling, but: SoCal Gen Con
Volourn replied to Chris Avellone's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I'll pass. Me being in the room with mr. Avellone would be liable to get me murdered and them put in pirson which would suck for everyone elkse as it would mena less quality games being made. I couldn't die with that on my concious. -
It will be nominated. That much is a given. Will it deserve to be? I cna't really say until I play but what we've heard looks good.

"boring mythical china" Why is Mythical China boring? "And I still believe Obsidian has a surprise for us." Yes, yes they do. It's called Jade Empire 2. -
Improve the Sentinel Class in KOTOR2!
Volourn replied to PleaseImproveSentinel's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
"but I am never close to lose all my Hp any time so it is of no use" That's not a problem with the class or ability but with the challenge of them. KOTOR was mostly easy so you didn't need any of the Jedi class super powers anyways. Up the challenge and the +3 CON would be helpful. Don't forget it also gives you a bonus to fort saves. -
What do you think of the prestige classes of jedi?
Volourn replied to Avatar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Watchman. Sound slike the perfect prestige class for Sentinels the best Jedi class so they match up nicely. -
"why no fat npcs? i mean, yeah, everyone has to fight to live, but pulling a blaster doesnt take very much strength?!?!?!?! i mean a fat gangster (not a hutt for once ) or sumthing" Not for your party. A fat person might be able to shoot a gun as well as anyone but fat people are not known for great stamina and sicne youa re running all over the plae and having to dodge bullets and sabres and the like they would just slow the party down and get you killed. At best they'd make good jet fighters and even then that's pushing it. They're best being PCs sitting down at the computer stuffing their face with chips while playing KOTOR2. R00fles! I only half kid. I am mean. I am sorry.

Well.. Mission annoyed me... Why, you ask? No 15 year old jail bait alien should be that HOT looking to an old geezer almost twice her age! That's very annoying as it annoyingly gave me the willies when evil thoguhts crossed my mind! :"> <>

Green. Green RULES all!
-
"Sorry Vol," Why apologize when you don't mean it? And, no, if it was meant to be a such a surprise there wouldn't have been so many clues given. And, i seriosuly doubt those clues were alld ropped my mistake. They were obviously meant to lead players to the possible conclusion. I think it was meant to be more of a 'twist'. Not all 'twists' should be a complete surprise. I'd rather have a twist where are clues thata re dropped than just some surprise that comes out of the blue for absolutely no reason. Those are even worse. It took you 4 planets to completely firgure it out. it wasn't easy; deal with it.

... "I said Kashyyyk convinced me. I started suspecting it after Taris." Suspecting means nothing. "Did i ever call it an easy secret?" Did I ever say you did? It was obviously that was directed at Pope, silly goose. Don't get so defensive.
