"Hmm, third person shooter with cover vs. D20 rules. I wonder which one has more post-pubescent male appeal, hmm." Star Wars (an IP that has made billions if not trillions of dollars through countless movies, books, games, tv shows, etc.) vs Unknown IP I wonder which is more appealing to any male. It's a no contest.

What Women Want - While funny at times, and entertaining this movie can eaisly be seen as sexist since it basically streotypes both genders. Gibson gives a good performance with a character that could easily delve into being really dislikeable. Grandma's Boy - I really liked this movie when I first watched it; but rewatching it is mildly entertaining and really gross but not in the good way. L0L Glitter - I know people will say I'm stupid (hey, what's new, lol); but this movie is underrated. This Mariah Carey vehicle was proclaimed 'one of the worst movies ever' which is just bogus. Sure, Carey's part isn't a huge stretch for her obviously; but she does a solid job in the role. To me, it's very similar in tone and quality to 8 Mile.

WOW. The Rangers were GENIUSES when they didn't resign Jagr, Avery, and *gasp* even Shanahan and replaced them with punks like Naslund, and Zherdev along with giving more power to overrated losers like Gomez and Drury. Because of these bonehead movies, Renney who has overall done a solid job lost his job. The Gm should be fired. HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA!

"But KOTOR isn't a cinematic action "RPG" clearly designed to appeal to the broadest possible audience. From the way they were talking before release clearly they expected ME to be their break out "mainstream" game." L0L You are suggesting ME is more mainstream tha KOTOR? Come on, now. Don't be silly. "And of course you wouldn't ship the entire amount you expect to sell at once, what would you do with the stock that doesn't sell? It got money tied up in it after all." True, true. But, if you expect it to sell x amount of copies at the minimum you surely would ship those right? Afterall, FO3 shipped I believe like 4 mil copies. There's a HUGE difference between what you HOPE a game will sell, and what you EXPECT it to sell. "They were talking about $300 million/year in revenues from Bioware/Pandemic combined, which means 3-4 million copies for every AAA game that comes out. That's the only way you could justify the insane purchase price for Bio/Pan." IIRC, ME was released BEFORE the purchase so EA would have known how much ME 360 actually sold so there shouldn't have been surprises. It's also called EA overpaying for BIO/Pandemic. The fact you call it insane just proves that point. They were also talking about BIO/Pandemic releasing as many as 6 games a year, and that's not gonna happen either. There is no logical reason to believe that BIO/MS expected ME to sell 4 mil + copies. None whatsoever. Hope, maybe, but expected? No.
-
I get that info from the BIO website - unless they've update the numbers in the past few months none of their games have sold more than 3 mil. All their big ones (BGs, NWN, KOTOR) are around 3 mil.
-
"But I think they wanted 4-5 million, similar to Assassin's Creed. At least from the way the analysts were talking about Bioware's potential when EA bought them." Really? They wanted 4.5-5 million copies sold despite the fact that no BIO game has sold more than 3 mil? Not even KOTOR. And, if they expected that many sales don't you think they would have shipped more than 1.6 mil copies to start? Who are these 'analysts' you speak of? They must be mythical 'cause I haven't heard anything about BIO, or MS expecting 4-5 mil copies to be sold. BIO's games will pretty much NEVER sell that many. They're simply not that popular. If BIO and MS actually expected 5 mil copies to be sold they're plainly retarded, and delusional. I doubt MS's market research people would be that naive. L0L

I'd say it's close to 90% (and that's being generous) even in supposed 'classy' places. Sorry, but fans by their nature are selfish, judgemental jerks who think the entire world evolves around them and their personal feelings and pet peeves.
-
"I know they initially announced they shipped 1.6 million to retailers (not sold through)" I remember them bragging aboutselling something like 750k or something within the first week or soemthing like that. I wouldn't be surprised if it sold between 1 mil-2 mil on the 360 alone. Don't think it sold huge on the PC, though, which doesn't surprise me much.

L0L "In all seriousness though, Shepherd better not be dead. That would be seriously not cool Bio." Actually, it would eb cool. Besdies, like mentioned above, unless BIo completely overhauls ME2's combat system, our Shepards tm are pretty much maxed out as is. There's no real reason to bother levelling in ME2 unless they add super duper overpowered new abilities that make the ones completely irrelevant. That's the main reason why I want Shepard to be gone. Or what would be neat is if he's assumed dead so you play another character, and you eventually find Shepard alive, he joins your group, and you have two PCs. HAHA! But, sadly, this is likely just a fake out hence why it is known as a 'teaser'.

"EA owns Bio." GAME OVER. "ea OWNS bio" GAME OVER "EA OWNS BIO EA OWNS BIO EA OWNS BIO" GAME OVER
-
Delusional much? BIO is just a part of EA so when BIO does something it means EA does it.
-
"So, now you're becoming sober after all. But what's that crap with "EA is making ME2" then?" Do we really need to repeat the last half page or so? I don't really mind it; but others might. Your choice.
-
"Also, I know the team that creates the NHL hockey series is an independent team. As long as they get their product out the door in time and stable, everything is roses with EA. I believe Tiburon is the same way with Madden. EA handles advertising and distribution, like every other publisher out there." Sure. This is true. But, they're still property of EA even if they have the independence to do what they want. As long as they make EA happy, they'll be left alone; but if EA dissaproves they can step in, and do what they want. As for the BIO dcos being EA VPs (whatever that actually entails) just helps prove my point. BIO answers to EA. EA controls BIO. And, yeah, I already stated and agreed that BIO isn't EXACTLY like BIS. Did you even read my post or did you just spam something 'opposite' just for kicks? BIS was a part of Interplay just as BIO is a part of EA. Any game made by BIO now is, by default, an EA game as well. The fact that BIO would have to 'buy' their freedom EA just lends credence to the fact that BIO is own by EA, and is part of EA ie division. And, they cna only leave if EA 'allows' it through selling them or whatever. All this, of course, depends solely on how the contract was when EA bought BIo which none of us what exactly it entails except the cost which was made public. P.S. ME2 will be awesome, and I'll be shocked if Shepard is actually dead.
-
"Bio can also let go free again if they screw up or EA get's into trouble" Really? BIo cna just walk away from EA if they're unhappy? You mean EA paid a billion dollars yet don't own BIO yet they were able to close down a part of BIO's cohorts? That's very interetsing. And, no, they're a division. The fact that BIO is still a seperate logo is relaly no different than what BIS was (except BIS was a creation of Interplay from the start). They're a division of EA. This means EA has final say, BIO does not. The fact that BIO still has some seperation doesn't mean they can just do their own thing, and say screw EA. If BIO wants to do x game they need EA's permission. Period.

Booing is NEVER classy. This is why sports fans, by defintion, can't be classy.

"Because if it sold well they'd be boasting from here to creation," They did exactly that. "Plus the price was dropped a few months after it came out, never a good sign." Many successful games price drop after a few months. ME took awhile to drop. It's still being sold at a reasonable price in the stores around here. Not full price; but not bad. "And no, it wouldn't be a failure if it at least paid for itself, most games don't even do that." if it was expected to sell 4 mil, and it only sold 2 mil; that's a failure. Afterall, budgets are set with expectations in mind. Still, none of what youi post si really evidence. Not even anecdotal. Heck, not even really accurate. And, mostly vague. 'Price dropped afetr a few months." By how much? How many months? You throw things out there but don't even bother with numbers. "And NHL 2009 was developed by Bioware" BIO is a division of EA. The reverse is NOT true as EA is NOT a division of BIO. BIO's days as an actual company is dead. It was bought out.
-
Just a fact, Tact.
-
BIO is a division of the company EA.
-
It's also being developed by EA. *shrug*
-
"I bet they only sold about half as much as they were hoping. " Why do you say this when the facts don't back it up? Espicially since nobody but BIO/MS know exactly how much sales they were expecting. Obviously, they sold enough to go ahead with the sequel. EA would have canceled it no questions asked if they felt ME1 was a failure 9which it would be if it only sold 'half' of what was expected.

And, she acts like she's in single digits despite the 'book smarts'.

They might boo him because he 'betrayed' them even though the Leafs and their fans betrayed him first by DEMANDING he leave them then they got mad when he actually did. L0L I'm sure there might be a mixed reaction. Along with the way Montreal and its fans are completely treating Kovalev like dirt; it's a sad day for Kanada's two oldest franchises. Tsk, tsk.

That sucks. No problems with that. Maybe next week's patch will help you.

"I mean, they know we all did her anyhow." No. I don't have sex with little girls.

Oops. My bad. Never mind.
