"While Halak did indeed come up big, I fail to see what his success has to do with Bryzgalov." Look deeper. ROUND 2 PREDICTIONS ---------------------------- 1. PIT vs MTL: Sorry, MTL, your luck runs out here. One dimensional teams that only win ebcause of the goalie tend to ultimiately fail (unless that goalie is Patrick Roy). PIT, unlike WSH, has TWO bonafied superstars. PIT in 5 as Halak manages to steal one. 2. BOS vs PHI: Pronger > Chara... but Bruins have the better goalie, and they aren't crippled... still, I tend to avoid betting against the best defenseman in the league when at all possible. PHI in 7. 3. SJ vs DET: DET is not the same team as the back to back finalist. No Hossa, weaker goalie, and not a shungry as the Sharks will be. Still, betting against the Wings is a dangerous propisition but it's worth the risk. SJ in 7. 4. VAN vs CHI: Outside of the Sedins, and Luongo, VAN is an overrated team. CHI has oodles of power. Plus, they got Hossa who is looking for his 3rd straight finals appearance with a 3rd different team. CHI in 6.

"Wow. I'm beginning to get a slight feeling that Ovechkin may not be a big games guy" Kiddin' right? The guy showed up just fine. Let's not forget he did get an assist tonight. Ovechkin had 10 points in 7 games - nothing to be shamed about. backstrom was fine. Green, and Semin are the guys underperformed here. What's funny is people keep saying that the Caps were 'more than just ovechkinm' yet i cotninue to see no proof of this. but hey, Washington's biggest problem is they need a real #1. btw, guys, Halak showed that overrated Bryzgalov how to perform in big games. Bryzgalov. L0L 'Finalist for vezina'. What a joke. Montreal did not beat Washington. Halak didn't. I lauigh at the idiocy of the annoucners who try to give the credit to the Canadiens' defense which played horribly. yeagh, they got a lot of 'blocked shots' but many of those were of the weak variety and it's easy to pile up block shots when the other team always has the puck. HALAK over WASHINGTON 4 games to 3. Caps will be fine... once, they get a goalie.

"Perhaps the employees should be asking west and zamp for that money that they're suing Acti for allegedly in part for their employees?" Are you serious? Don't you thinkt he people filing the lawsuit would have an idea who owes them what money? ACTI looks like it is destroying the goose that laid a golden egg. Man, theya re dumb. You keep bashing the IW founders yet it should be apparant that ACTI's actions were not just against them but the entirety of IW. byut, hey, I guess the whole of IW employees are at fualt even thoguh ACTI claimed they wnated to keep the stolen money so they could be heroes to the IW employees. LMAO ACTI are screwing themselves. LMAO This has got to be one of the biggests self destructions ever. HAHAHA! Now, an ACTI CEO of publishing has resigned. HAHAHAHAHA! Pathetic. What's funny is no matter what happens, the IW founders are going to get what they ultimatrely want - a break from ACTI. While ACTI gets what? Nothing but embarassment. "Also, the employee lawsuit apparently includes some people still working at IW. " That's hilarious! That said, they won't be workinjg there much longer. They'll either 'resign' or be fired. -

ACTI now faces a 2nd lawsuit be former IW employees for their their stealing of others' money. This one field by 38 employees you have quit their company recently who are complaining that ACTI won't pay them bonuses owed them. ACTI admits to do so but have claimed the 'legal right' to do so as the bonuses are reserved, according to them, only for 'current' IW employees, and they can pay it when they so choose to. That logic is retarded because if it was true, they could technically fire ALL IW emplyees, than right afterwards, officially state they are paying out the bonuses and since there'd be no 'current' IW employees to pay they would then be able to keep the money. That is just screwed up logic. How can anyone defend such a stance as being 'legit'? It most certainly isn't morally justified, and it soiunds legally suspect... and, if it is, that's a a retarded law. Plain, and simple. btw, the suing ex employees claim the bonuses were for completing Modern Warfare 2. Unless they are falt out lying, they are owed the bonuses. Period. To not pay them is theft. -
"It's a great game. I recommend watching it! Unless you wanna be like that guy who frequents this thread and makes arguments why Bryzgalov isn't better than his backup goalie because he read a stats list.. WATCH THE ****ING GAME INSTEAD. " I'm impressed with his team losing 3-1. I'd rather watch Montreal's Halak who isa superior goaltender and literally stole a game and maybe a serious. Bryz is a good goalie; but he's not one of the best. He'd be lucky to be a top 10 goalie amongst the the 16 playoff goalie goalies. Heck, half the teams that missed the playoffs have goalies as good as he is or better. Phoenix's success is 99% of their coach. P.S. I've watched exactly 1 minute of this game tonight (because it's probably the most boring series this side of BOS-BUF) and he gave up a goal during the sequence.

"Overall, the John Jay study found that 149 priests were responsible for more than 25,000 cases of abuse over the 52-year period studied." Game over. Also, that article contradicts itself. It claims poriests are as likely to molest children as the 'general public'm yet the numbers it uses don't back it up. According to said article, priests do it at a rate of 4% while the the population does it at an official rate of 10% and they claim that number is low and should be 20%. btw, I think those numbers are way too high. Really? 1 in 10 or 1 in 5? I don't buy that nonsense. That's claiming that I'm related to a solid of child molestors. K, whatever, Mr. Madeupstats.

"And similarly with the whole "Acti owns IW" Acti owns them and thus can in theory dissolve or build the company as they see fit, thus they can do similar with the paycheck." Nice try though, but it doesn't work that way. ACTI signeda contract with the IW founders and the rest of the crew. Part of this contract was about bonuses. You can't just say I'm not paying you. It don't work that way. "find it appalling that somebody would have people saying "This guy deserves a bonus" when "this guy" didn't even do his job properly." But, they did. Therer's little doubt that the bonuses owed wer elikely based on how much the game sold. The game sold millions therefore they are owed bonuses. The bonuses are not based on whetehr Calax likes the game or wheteher or nott he logo was on the disc. L0L "WHEN ANYTHING SELLS WELL." Tell that to Troika, and a bunch of others devs that see their games bomb. LMAO "but IW is to blame totally for their profits." Who is saying this? Don't be a contrary troll for the sake of it. Both are responsible for the profits. However, one again, the bonuses were likely based on how much the game sold. As we all know, the game was a mega success hence the huge bonuses. Duh. "IW did break it's contract, they actively sought to divorce themselves from Acti WELL before their contract was up (2 years)" An employee can seek to leave their employer whenever they want just like an employer can fire you before your contract is up. I would not be surprsie if there are 'opt outs' for both sides. *shrug* You notice how nobody is crying about the fact they were fired? Let's read that, again. They didn't quit ebfore the 3 years were up; but ACTI FIRED them breaking according to you, the 'ironclad' contract. L0L "they (allegedly) openly called their bosses incompetent idiots." And? I doubt calling the boss an idiot is technically against the contract. Nice try, though. Besdies, ACTI was breaking the contract left and right. ie. Stealing money, trying to force them to make x game when the contract allowed IW to choose to make y game. Oh, I bet you forgoit about that issue, right? Then again, your nonsense is silly and you know it as you admitted to statuing contradictory stuff just because so you can be different because ACTI has no supporters (including their own employees who are leaving them left and right), so in essence, you admitted to trolling. -
"I'm a huge Avery fan, but the guy is still a third line player." 2nd line. " He's one of the better energy players out there, but he's only playing 15 minutes a game on a good night." 15 minutes is not bad as a forward since top forwards tend to play 20ish minutes a game. 15 minutes is nothing to be shamed about. Also, it should be pointed out,t hat he does this despite having a crybaby coach (who should be fired) who clearly hates him and does everything to sabotage both Avery and the team. " There are a lot of guys out there like him, the Sharks have Scott Nichol. " Define 'a lot'. "Bryz is a top 10 goalie right now, he's even up for a Vezina." Not impressed. He's arguably - by the stats - not even the best goalie on his own team. The backup has better gAA and S% playing with the same defense. I wouldn't put Bryz in the top. All you have to do is look at his two fellow Vezina nominees to show why he's overrated. Both of them have way better stats than their back ups. Well, in Rask's case not so much back up since they split games (because Rask stole the startiing job). While Miller - as much as I pick on him - is the main reason why BUF is as good as they. Phoenix's reason for being as good as theya re is coaching not goaltending. Plain, and simple. "This argument will be less absurd if Avery ever gets nominated for a major award." In this biased league, it won't happen. "And Heatley, Marleau, and Thornton have expressed disappointment in their own performances so far, so that pretty much sums that up." PC garbage meant to please the pathetic fans. They did well enough to dominate their opponent, and advance to the 2nd round? Shoudln't the team success come first? I mean, Ovechkin has his share of his points in this series, and it's clear WSH is better than MTL but they still may end up losing. And, guess what? All people will talk about is how Ovechkin 'choked' ala last playoffs when his team lost in 7 games vs PIt despite him doing everything and then some for them. *shrug* SJ is in 2nd round. That's all that matters.

Medicore? Medicore? I wonder what you think of Drury who is paid more, played more games, likely gets more ice time, has a mistaken rep of being clutch (yet only had 1 GWG this season which is the same amount as Avery did) yet scored exactly 3 more goals than the guy you called 'medicore'. Avery is not the best player ever, but medicore? That's just plain baloney with no facts to back it up. As for your 'PIMS = poor defense' is silly since many of the ebst defensive players alsom get lots of penalties. Oh, I guess Chris Pronger is horrible at defense, right? Come on, now. "The guy had 2 points (assists, no less) in his last 6 playoff games." I guess Thornton, Heatley, and Marleau all suck then right? I guess Crosby is horrible as well because he was -2 with no points in the last game. I guess Hasek was a terrible goalie because his last playoffs with detroit were subpar? Don't be silly basing someone's talent on 6 silly games. Avery > Bryz Bryz had a worse GAA and save% than his team's back up so how worthwhile is he really when the back up is better? L0L Just comapre it to other ace goalies who actually do have significantly better stats than their backups. See Buffalo's Miller and Detroit's Howard, or Boston's Rask. Case closed.

And, chip in offensively. Plays great defense espicially on the PK. A solid prescense on the power play espciially in front of goalie. A guy who compltely and utterly destroyed one of the greatest goalies' ever pysche so much to the point that it was the reason why teh team advanced. Obviously a 'goalie' is more important overall since a goalie playing bad or good can be the difference while as good (or bad) as Avery is he's one of 18 skaters. Still, I'd rather have Avery over Bryzgalov. Bryz is overrated. Everybody should know the real reason why the Coyotes are so much better than before is they threw Gretz in the trash. A Bryz type goalie is a dime a dozen. An Avery is one in a blue moon. Just ask Dallas how've they done since he left? Ask the Rangers how well they do when he's not in the line up? LMAO P.S. before you brag about Bryz's admittedly great season.. take a gander at the Coyote back up. Case closed.

"So, basically, you're saying that if a developer delivers a product, they no longer have any responsability for it's success or failure financially, and shouldn't be penalized if it's a terrible performer and/or broken" Don't be nonsensical in you devil's advocate trolling that you already admitted to. We're talking about the lack of a logic not the crappiness of a product. Also, IW is not a 'developer' ala Obsidian who are contracted out. They are owned by ACTI. When a publisher hires Obsidian, they hire them for the rep, and their ability to make games. ACTI owns IW. They are the bosses. IW is simply a division hence whey they can fire the IW 'founders'. Sega CANNOT fire Uruqhart from his post at Obsidian. Bottom line here is ACTI is in charge. They have final say. They found the product THEIR employees delivered to them suitable to release... and, guess whatm, they were right, since it made millions largely ebcause of the great promotion ACTi did. See, I gave them credit for their share of its success. You make it sound either/or. Just ebcause I beleive ACTI are thieves (which theya dmitted to); doesn't mean they don't get their due. "HOWEVER they should be rewarded when their game sells like hotcakes because well, it was all their effort that pushed them over the top and had NOTHING to do with the publisher." Nonsense. I guarantee if the game had bombed heads would have rolled at IW. No doubt about it. So, to say, the developer wouldn't get the blame if the game failed is silly talk by a silly admitted troll. btw, The publisher got rewarded. I would also presume if the game had bombedm, the bonus would ahve been MUCH lower. LMAO I'm sure ACTI got a nice cut of profits ebcause the game was a success. Silly person. -

"MW2 wouldn't have been NEARLY as successful as it was because most people wouldn't be able willing to toss money on the product after spending so much and seeing their checkbook accounts, which amounts to financial damage no?" 1. You have no evidence that people wouldn't have boguht the game if it was released post Christmas. 2. Ifs mean nothing. Bottom line is there was no financial damage. ACTI accepted the product as is, and by doing so they okayed it as it was. If it was unacceptable to them they shouldn't have sold. You cannot complain after the fact when you, in fact, have the power to get it fixed. -
I'm sure there are others just as good. Sean Avery was an awesome pick up for the Rangers after Dallas had their whiny fit.

"And if you hired somebody to paint your house and then came back after it'd been done and realized two rooms were left undone what would happen? While we know next to nothing about this, I'd suggest that if somebody screwed up IN DIRECT VIOLATION OF ORDERS their pay gets docked (at the very least). Is Acti stealing? Is IW extorting money? Is the world crashing to the ground? The Law will let us know in three months. I suppose extorting is the wrong phrase, but I'd consider holding a financially successful product hostage for a MASSIVE pay raise to be at least MORALLY reprehensible. " By taking the product as is, and promptly selling it; ACTI was accepting what was given to them. If I come home after the painting is done, don't say anything, and send them home.. I can't come whining later on that the job was fubared. I need to voice my complaints right away or I'm stating that I, in fact, am accepting the work as done. This is what ACTI did. Also, they stole money. That's unacceptable. NOTHING okays that. Again, nothing IW did hurt the games' sales as it is the 'most successful game ever'. That's what the court is going to look at espicially when it comes to damages, which btw, ACTI cannot show they were damaged at all. The game sold tons. Game over. -

The copout is letting ACTI get away with tehft, and away with their responsibilty. It is THEIR job to decide when the game is released. No ACTI game is released without ACTI's say so and before they think it is ready. They obviously felt the product that IW gave to them was ready to be published. It is 100% their responsibility. If the product wans't up to their standards they should not release it. Period. The moment they did, they were giving their stamp of approval. You can't accept somebody's work as finished then whine about it later. IfI hire someone to paint my house, and while they are doing so, I notice it's not what I want, it's my duty to tell them so and get them to do it right before I say it's finished. I cannot tell them the job is done, send them on their way, and then whine about it later. This is exactly what ACTI is doing and it's balony. If ACTI was unhappy with the work why did theya ccept it then sell it.... making millions off it.. then cry about it? Oh, I know why. It's a part of their plan to steal money. Plain, and simple. IW did their job where it satisified ACTI enough to publish it. Now, they should pay 'em. Case closed. -

Except, you'd have to prove that the stuff they didn't do cost ACTI a loss of profits. Since we're disucssing the 'mosts uccessful game ever'; that apparantly did not happen,. btw,. NEWSFLASH, unless the relationship is different than most companies and their underlings, the publishing is ACTI's responsibility and if they chose to release it wiuthout these missing features it's a defacto of okaying the IW changes. Know your law before speaking up. They cvan't come whining about stuff like this after the fact when there was a way tod eal with it then. By letting it go - which is exactly what thyey did - they okayed it legally and contractually. Period. Unlike their theft. -

"Yeah, that one, where they deliberately ignored a direct order to put the publishers logo in the game because they were just that petty." While IWn were being jerks for not putting it in, this is ultimiatrely ACTI's fault. if they *really* wantedm their logo in the agme it would have been in the game. They're the puiblisher. They decide when the game is released. Complaining loudly about it afterwards is silly. It's not like IW publishes the game with no final say by ACTI. Both companies are at fault in that situation. Besdies, being a jerk is not the same as being a thief. -
"how can one ask for permission on the ice? as a hockey player I can say that it's very difficult to talk about anything other than the play while on the ice." K. Sharks win. And, it's obvious why. They broke down Anderson as the Avs were outmatched from the get go.

"some teenager jerk watching boobies on his Iphone" This scenario is just not likely to happen,. But, hey, I guess you live somewhere wwhere some teenage jerk shoves his nudy mag into yoru face, right? And, you promptly sue him for it, right>? LMAO "So yeah, I dare anyone to watch porn in front of me. I'll sue the floor from under you and use the money to enact whatever you were watching." The chances of you winning this lawsuit would likely be nearly nil unless you have a little kid with you that you can brainwash into lying to say they were tramatized and have cried uncontrollably for days. But, hey, go ahead and try it.

What product are you talking about? the one that made millions for Activision? The one that is the 'most successful game ever'? Sorry, but ACTI should pay up. Youn can list all the so called 'crimes' IW comitted but the bottom line is they more than delivered the 'product' to ACTI. But, ACTi was greedy and tried to steal money and broke the contract repeatedly. And, now they are using the money they stole to bully people into staying when that money is owed to ALL IW employees. -
Huh? Except for tonight's game, Crosby has been on fire EVERY game against the Sens. And, he's done better than Malkin in every game but this one. Malkin has done nothing without Crosby's permission for the most part.

Doesn't matter. Barring pron that shows actual heinous like actual real rape (instead of actors doing it) & sex with minors (immoral and illegal), ALL pron should be there to be enjoyed by those who enjoy it and ignored by those who don't care for it. Much like any other form of entertainment. I don't care for MMA, and I think it's a rather barbaric sport but if people want to watch it and participate in it, more power to 'em.

"Well, I don't think that they were in breach of contract when IW was saying "Give us more money or we'll slow work on your game until Duke Nukem Forever looks like it had a lightning quick development cycle"" I have no reason to believe ACTI wans't in breach of contract. They've already admitted to theft.
