Didn't think so. Must be just a development screenshot then...

Is this actually possible in the game?! For those of you who don't have the foggiest about what I'm talking about, just look at Kreia's hands and must be very early in the game, Peragus if I'm not mistaken.

What company have you had a bad experience with?
Darth_Kurdt replied to Ellester's topic in Way Off-Topic
NTL have been voted the worst company in Britain for customer service. I happen to dislike Curry's and other such electrical superstores, they are in my opinion, con-artists! -
They recycled Planescape:Torment story. Just because you did not recognized it was recycled does not mean it was not, most stories share the same basic concepts but in KotOR2 the story they recycled did not worked for that expecific setting. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Aren't all stories in life recycled in some way or another? Films, books, even music have recycled events for centuries so whats the difference in a game. If it was about originality we wouldn't even have a Star Wars Universe as Lucas ripped off numerous Westerns and Film Noir detective films and then stuck them in space!

What music are you listening to right now?

You ought to try listening to the Smiths then  , I hate Morrissey but no one can question his lyrical prowess along with Marr's melodies they were pretty outstanding -

Not so sure about the Bowie thing quite a few of his songs had hidden meanings to them. e.g. Ashes to Ashes (the story of a superstar submersed into a world of narcotics) . But yeah its the poppy music hooklines that people buy records for on the majority, I guess thats why Chili peppers scored hits with the other side (weepy guitar solo which becomes progressively more energetic) etc. But when an artist can both write great lyrics and tunes thats something to respect imo. -

I couldn't agree with you more! However I didn't like Rage against the machine, I've never been keen on the rock/rap mixture. I hate the Red Hot Chili Peppers for that too, that and their inability to write and lyrics that are meaningful. #Give it away, give it away, give it away now...# Never did get that one -

Well my feeling was that they were trying to define a 'new sound' for themselves with Out of Exile. 'Audioslave' for me was still full of too much of their past. Like I mentioned before the riffs were very much Rage against the machine (Cochise), whereas 'Out of Exile' was toned down and seemed like they were on their way to something different. I might add that Cornell's vocals seemed much more thoughtful and less angry. Just my take on things. Anyone like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs? I think they're great, very raw. Good stuff -

Blasphemy! Anyway: Track 1077:Soundgarden-My Wave... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No Blasphemy would be..."I think Foo Fighters are better than Nirvana" hehe, but to be honest I do think Conell's writing abilities have moved on with the times and thankfully on Out of Exile there weren't too many stomache churning Rage against the machine Riffs. They've certainly gelled together as a band and it certainly shows in their music. Went to see The Kings of Leon last night and I have to admit they put on a good show, fantastic atmosphere. Always saw them as a mixed bag beforehand but a mate of mine talked me into it. -

I've just gotta say that Chris Cornell is God. I love Soundgarden but I now think Audioslave are better -
Never played or heard of it, but the story resembles many of the old Film Noir films, where the main character always has some deep dark secret and haunts him everyday. On a different note, my copy of K2 keeps crashing every now and again. I wouldn't be so bothered if this was for the pc but I have it for the xbox, anyone else have this problem? The first time couple of times I played it through it worked ok, I was just thinking its either my Xbox is getting ready to die or the game itself is knackered, however there aren't any scratches on it, its in perfect order really.

That would be hilarious indeed :D All those K3 thoughts will end up in somebody's recycle bin :D :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That would be worse than the Shenmue scenario, I dont think they'll ever make a third Theres no reason why they shouldn't make a Kotor 3 though, I mean its been relatively successful and has made lucasarts a good margin of profit I would have thought, and you only have to look around the net to see the amount of support the game has amassed. Been thinking more about plots and stuff recently, and I thought wouldn't it be great if K3's story centred around a character, who had been deeply affected by the events that had unfolded in the previous 2 games and beyond. i.e. A mysterious character unwilling to confide in anyone. But as events progress we learn through flashbacks that the character holds a great burden and is the epitome of pain and suffering, he/she as a child watched as everyone they loved and cared for were mercilessly slaughtered during the Mandalorian wars. The player has to see to it that these emotions are used in the relevant way. Will the history of the character be used to eliminate such atrocities happening or will the call of revenge be too much to bare?

LucasArts did cut KOTOR II's story
Darth_Kurdt replied to Craftsman's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I must admit the ending confused the hell out of me, I thought there was something I'd missed...although I didn't question it very much at the time, usually because I miss things out anyway. Reading some of the comments on forums on the internet has led me to question Lucasarts integrity a little this isn't the first time they've let their fans down as any adventure gamer can testify, e.g. Sam and Max 2 and Full Throttle 2 being canned, not to mention the atrocious sequel 'Escape from Monkey Island'! -
Because something happens to that blue one....incidentally that exact one will be used in Ep. III so I read.
-
I agree Kotor II, seemed mostly like a rehash to me. e.g. Korriban they just removed everything from the Academy and added a few bits into the shyrack cave.
-
Will do, although one of the reasons this game franchise is so good is because it's star wars, and you can thrash people with a lightsaber and master force tricks. I don't know about anyone else but Jade Empire uses the same engine and I don't feel half as compelled to play it. Don't get me wrong I'll still buy it but it will feel like there is something missing with it not being in the star wars universe

The force is just a metaphor for God, is how I've always perceived it anyway. So I guess its the idea of something being omnipotent I guess -
I have a problem with the new Star Wars movie
Darth_Kurdt replied to Angry Sherpa's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Well yeah we all know the storyline, however as a Star Wars fan I want to know how it happens, how intense the battle is with Obi-Wan before Anakin is finally struck down and inevitably becoming Darth Vader. The destiny of characters such as Mace Windu and Padme aren't really that clear, although we do know Windu meets his end (like most of his fellow Jedi), we don't actually know how. I think this will be the best of this Trilogy and has the potential to be! -
It was the quickest way of despatching them is the only thing I could think of. Not everyone is susceptible to Force tricks...as you will learn later in Return of the Jedi.

Yeah, I had my George Lucas thinking cap on trying to evaluate names

Ideas for kotor 3? returning people? planets?
Darth_Kurdt replied to Draken's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Well, whatever happens I don't think we (as the gamer) should ever play as either the Exile or Revan. Perhaps it might be nice to have a character that is related to the films in one way or another, e.g. One of Palpatine's ancestors? I also think it was nice to see how Canderous and Carth had progressed in their careers, so perhaps we could see what Bastilla was upto. As for the planets, I felt the areas were much brighter and playable in Kotor than in Kotor II, where the planets felt very lonely, empty and dark. Imo not enough characters to interact with. I would love it if you started the game with the mission to seek out and train a young lad, who is strong in the force and take him on as your apprentice and depending upon your conversation responses he would either respect your leadership and remain loyal in your quest to defeat the sith and restore order or become disillusioned with it and go off to fight with your enemies. -
Well everyones gotta start somewhere, so here I am. I reckon it might help if I knew what the story might be, it hasn't even been confirmed that there will be a KOTOR III yet, has there? (Although I'm willing to bet there will be.) But I think if I had to go for a name I'd probably say something regarding "The Lost Teachings", "The Forgotten Order" or even "The Republics last stand".
