But I'd never call them nazies, as that is a word linked to the national socialists Germany in ww2, whom as you say probably didn't have anything to do with the context of the name at all.

It wasn't my intention to compare them to the national socialists of WW2, I was just trying to say that using that name as the titel of your political mindset doesn't fly due to how ruined the name has become. But doesn't it make sense, though? A nationalist/patriot, but at the same time with a somewhat social democratic mindset on welfare issues. I can't think of another name that would really fit this sort of politic. In sweden they still call them nazies I think (or racists, if they're feeling jolly), they're a little behind on the whole letting the right wing have a say and all. Indeed the time for change over there is way overdue.

Alan, it's simply a social democrat (or similar) with very patriotic views on other issues, they are pro welfare state, pro bigger police force/military, pro harder sentences, and against immigration etc. I should know, I've voted for them (for better or worse) once. Well, as for my commie remark, it was simply meant as a jab against all the reds in europe who moan about the growing patriotic/nationalist trend in some nations, yet whenever their own commie masters has seized power in the past, it turned out to be anything but unpatriotic.
