  1. Woah. Had a new run through and discovered a LOT improvements on item combos. Horrai for the random drops! Mira: maxed MicoPulse Blasters, Rapid Shot, Jedi-Speed. One hell of a bitch. As a bonus, she even can replace Bao or T3 with her maxed skills! Atton: Found gloves +5 dex for scoundrels. Exile, male: Males are advantaged, they do get the Wisdom AC-Bonus from Handmaiden. Found universal implants for +2 on every stat. Found Ossus Robe for +4 int and +4 wis +3 cha. Bio-Underware MkV for extra +3 con. JalShey gloves and belt for even more dex and wis increase. Alternatively Sith PowerGloves for +3 str. I may even find a +4 str belt yet, as such one did exist already in Kotor1... Edit: forgot to mention Saresh Headgear for +5 wis I also found a crystal with +1-10 electrical. Man how I wish they had implantet whirlwind attack... Sadly, I am running out of planets, where I can use those cool party/equipment combos...
  2. Someone brought this before, but it was not entirely correct... Bao-Dur: "That is not a remote, it is a GIANT MINIATURE SPACE STATION!" Remote: "Miep." ------ Kreia: "I will teach you... for a turnip!"
  3. Oooh, I forgot: The Exile: Choose female, give her the dancing "clothes". Big Double-light saber in her gentle hands. No need for other maxing equipment. YOURNAME-crystal does it all. For nice sweet restless dreams.
  4. I am surprised that such a thread has not surfaced yet. :D Handmaiden: Flex-Armor AC10+3dex, add-ons for 0.6 energy immunity. Give her two maxed Sith Tremor Swords. Unstoppable; and she does even look sexy! (w00t) Canderous: His armor is bad... but still, with dex-implants around dex20, the usual heavy-repeater maxed out and all skills on ranged. Real fun! Bao-Dur: "
  5. LOL, that *has* to be the point! Otherwise I couldn
  6. That channeling idea seems also very artificial to me. After all, you are also relying on the force in solo missions. And there is absolutely no declining effect on those around you, as it should be if you were such a force vacuum. The council jedis want to separate you "from the force" , for continuitys sake maybe isolate you from the channeling effect, but still there was no indication of their fears that you would finally "sniff out" the force by merely existing. No proof or even hint of that in the whole game story. I found these explanations simply ridiculous. Killed the story for me.
  7. I find this whole idea of being a force gap ridiculous. After all, you *are* using the force all the time. The force being a destiny-shaping thing which can be abandoned? Meh... not very believable. Even if you would follow that line, Kreia is a contradiction in herself: She was not able to abandon the force, yet she thinks she can educate someone to be such a force-independence while all the time her teachings are governed by the force, since she is not force-independend. Talk about shooting in your own foot. <_< Only Nihilous was believable, being a sort of "black hole" in the force, having concentrated too much force onto himself, thus becoming a sci-fi undead lich or vampire. I can
  8. Trying to shoot with a blaster while in melee, opponents having energy shields switched on, is usually no good idea... This fight is as easy as any other fight IF you skilled Atton also a little bit for melee combat. Having good equipment ready to use in your general inventory also does help a lot. E.g., Sith Tremorsword does some 15-50 pts damage when fully upgraded. Sith Armor allows for 7 AC plus up to 7 Dexterity-Bonus, not counting additional underlay and plating.
  9. Oh, I did not get that scene... how does it trigger? Apart from that, I completely agree. No character depth. Perhaps a little bit on the Ravager, when she suddenly has ideas on her own. Unfortunately, all in all, not good enough.
  10. "You have to take me with you because if not I will make myself explode and kill you all and you can
  11. Her behaviour is not consistent. Follow her dialogues closely, especially those in the first half of the game, and you will see that she is contradicting her own statements very oftenly and sometimes even babling a sheer nonsense. That is a shame, because the basic idea of a neutral character, who, as opposed to Jolee Bingo, tends more towards "evil" behaviour, basically is very good. I wish they had put more attention to the inner logic of the plot. :/
  12. Concerning Atton vs Disciple, I found it very intriguing. Disciple beeing a sort of Paladin-Jedi, Atton is the bad boy with a heart of gold. Disciple was boring because he was so so.. lawful and complying with everything. But in the end, when the council finally wants to really punish you and they are killed, it is Disciple who offers solace. No Atton near. So it was disciple who my imagined female PC would have turned to in that moment. So it is the cliche conflict, which was also the basis of the X-Men movies: Bad boy is more attractive, but in the end the nice boy is the one you can rely on. Well, this is how I, playing a female - they have better looking avatars anyway -experienced those slim traces of romance the game offers...
  13. That is exactly the point! Perhaps we should content with that the storywriters overdid it a bit on the esoteric parts. I can imagine that the PC as a LS-Jedi, which the PC definitely was before, could not order an entire planet to be destroyed without immense suffering in the force. See to Obiwan in EpisodeIV when Alderaan gets destroyed, and he wasn
  14. I add my vote to the last two statements. Kreia is a fantastic character. As was Jolee Bindo in Kotor1, she is just the opposite. Except her characterisation on Malachor, which was not acceptable. I also got almost totally lost from real life, ordering pizza, pulled the telephone chord. This has never happened to me since BG2. And folks, that is big praise. This game is worth an expansion which closes the gaps, improves some location and adds one or two new ones. BG1 and BG2 did also improve a lot with their respective expansion packs. (IF there be an expansion, the XP progression really should be halved... I see no sense in doing Hk Factory with levels 30+ )
  15. There are so many gaps that a patch would not suffice. Perhaps Obsidian should do and sell an expansion? This expansion should serve to improve Korriban, Telos final and Malachor V up to the quality level of the other locations. They could add the HK-factory as a new location, and maybe also another new location. (For gameplay reasions, the Xp progression should be halved, then). Such an expansion, I would gladly buy!!! But, please, no dark ending which involves the player helplessly watching as his comrades are slaughtered!!! Those CRPGs are all about living and controlling destinies, and in Kotor2, you spend so much time developing and finding the right equipment for your party members. It would be immensively frustrating if everybody would get killed off wihtou being able to influence anything. This would be absolutely contradicting the whole influence system!!!! Since such games are about choices and influences, I could only imagine something like a choice for a dark ending, if it must then be. Say, if you are a female PC, depending on your actions either Atton or Disciple would get killed. The remorse would be felt in that way that your could save, and thus you had to decide which one you love, one but not both. This way, you would leave at least a little amount of choice to the player. Like some other poster said, the dark, cliffhanger ending of EpisodeV was insofar unsurpassed as it actually had an ending with a lot of resolve. Luke and Leia standing before the panorama window (=destiny to come), Luke somewhat shyly laying his arm around Leias shoulders (=personal development to come). In short, there is at least some not-so-dark outlook into the future! (And if you want an example for a bad cliffhanger, go watch Matrix2) The ending for Kotor2, which was cut, does not come even close to that quality. But it could still be properly developed in an expansion!!!!
  16. My Sentinel/Watchwoman had about level 27 and got easy through with force-lightning. If you have three or more enemies, you do the most damage per turn with force-lightning. It was almost boring. Otoh, fighting enmies for hours and hours without any dialogues in between would have been even more boring...
  17. Yeah, and how do you make a Kotor3 with all that crap about higher evil beings? IMO, you would totally loose the true mood of StarWars by going down that line... I have no idea on how they can even come close to follow-up on all those open plot-ends which are left over from Kotor2...
  18. I did not get that thing which seems to be the main issue for the PC and the Jedi-Council. Nihilous, I could understand how it was explained. The absence of life, the absence of the force. It is the sci-fi equivalent of an undead. But what about the PC? He lost his connection due to a traumatic event. I suppose it is traumatic when a light-side jedi condemns an entire planet and some more people in thousands of big spacecrafts to death. Ok. I can also understand when a loss of memory helps overcoming this traumtic event. But: How did the PC loose his memory? Was it just the bad treatment in the Harbringers med-bay initiated by Hk-50? How does Sions appeareance fit in this whole arrangement, and also Kreia? How came Kreia and the Ebon Hawk together? This is nowhere explained. And how is it that the PC is also supposed to be a "gap in the force", that which apparently unnerves the Jedi council? What and why is it that the PC then is so different to Nihilous? I can hardly believe that living without the force for some 10 years really makes all the difference in being a "gap in the force"? As I see it now, it is just a crappy plot-writing with too much esoteric balbla... please enlighten me.
  19. Ups. I apologize. Thanks for the edit. And above all, thanks for actually reading. Those other parts still make for a great game which almost completely sucked me out of real life! Maybe this is the reason why I am all the more disappointed; it is a disappiontmend on a higher level. I thought I needed to clarify that. EDIT: Phospor: The quotes should probably also be edited ...
  20. And about those names... this is one of the reasons why I completely dismiss the new star wars episodes... :/
  21. I finished it last weekend, late at 5 in the morning. :/ I must say, I felt a bit surreal, like having played a different game than in the afternoon. It may have been the usual tiredness, but after reading some inofficial reviews (not those, uhm, "extended advertisements" reviews from people who seem never to have played it to the end...), there seems to be some consent on the follwing:
