  1. Converting skaen/assassin to skaen/streetfighter can effectively be fun, easy to inflict debuff/poison in AoE with blunderbuss (and modal will trigger streetfight passiv) and you can jump into the fray without caring about your life after. Invisibility/stealh isn't broken on DoT and Bleed (axe modal) ?? But for the sorcerer i'm wondering : Keeping sorcerer : great versatility (AoE / Buff / debuff / DoT / single damage) but it will have lower Pl than other class Going : druid/hellwalker for might/int buff and insane Dot / Hot Going : wizard/hellwalker with alchemy for might/int buff and insane damage and +PL on poison keyworded spells Going : Pure druid or pure wizard for +PL and hight lvl spell (corrosive skin in wizard appeal me a lot for RP, hight lvl druid spell are less thematic) Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh my restartisis crisis keep restarting!
  2. Hello ! I'm trying to setup a 5 party build with an heavy "dark/evil" RP fealing (not necessary min/max or overpowered build, RP > all, but still viable in POTD upscalled). Was thinking i could use some feedback from you guys So far, i'm considering : 1) Sorcerer : Druid (Ancien) / Wizard (blood mage). Build around Damage over time (DOT) : plague/poison/decay spells and Debuff. Key item : Spine of thicked green (+3 Plant/Beast PL) / Spider Silk robe (+3 Poison PL) / Mask of grotto deep (+2 Poison PL) Role : Damage dealer (DD) / crowd control (CC) / some heals 2) Zealot : Priest (Skaen) / Rogue (Assassin). Build around backstab and affliction (toxic spray). Key item : Dragon dowri / chromoprismatic staff / slippers of the assassin Role : Burst DD / CC / some heals 3) Cleric Swashbukcler: Warrior (Unbroken) / Rogue (trickster). Build around Riposte Key item : Last Word / Akola’s Apex Ward Role : Main tank 4) Templar : Paladin (bleakwalker) / Priest (Wael) Build around Riposte and FoD in AoE Key item : Whisper of the endless path (with offensive riposte) / Blackened plate armor (for combo with sorcerer) Role : off tank / DD / CC / Buffer / some heal 5) Mindstalker : Rogue (streetfighter or trickster) / Cipher (Ascendant or Beguiler) Build around CC and DOT Key item : Kitchen stove / Fire in the hole Role : DD / CC I'm missing a chanter for summon and a barbarian (berserker or corpse eater) for the madman . Toughs ?
  3. Buffing backstab is not necessary the way to go. Actually, they just need to not buff ennemy HP and armor to nobrainer amount. I have no issue with ennemy rogue being very deadly in close quarter if they don't have epic resistance : there is a lot of "instant" cc and panic button to deal with it (it's a party game after all ). On highter difficulty : nerf actual ennemy HP/armor and nerf party aoe radius, this way party member specializing in 1v1 would feel usefull.
  4. Couldn't agree more. Will try the new vet difficulty (apparently there is more mobs now). I know adjusting difficulty is really a hard work but, as you said, bloated healtpools and increasing armor is a huge no-no (a little buff to resistances if fine). Instead, you can : - improve ai - add new skills to ennemy - add more ennemy - increase damage received - decrease healing received - reduce duration of inspiration / increase duration of affliction - reduce aoe - etc.... But a backstab with a 2h should flat down an unprotected squishy, no matter what.
  5. Quite sad if +Poison/Alchemy don't affect druid's spells anymore. The RP touch of an "evil" sorcerer (druid+wizard) spreading plague and poison in aoe appeal me. Would fit nicely with my assasin/skaen priest. Anyway, it's probably still very viable in a full party comp. Except Chromoprismatic Staff, there is no +PL Decay item right? But honestly, what i really hope for is PL impacting all aspects of summoned creatures (Healt/Damage/Pen/Armor/Resistance), not only the duration. It would make summons build enjoyable in POTD Upscalled. Right now, summons are (mostly) just meatshield in highter difficulty. I miss the impact of summonig the Elementals Princes in Baldur's Gate or a Pit Fiend (Planetar was maybe a bit too much tought ). Please OBS, you have made already make a really nice work with this game, let us enjoy summoning really scary monster!
  6. Unsure if that's the case for the Spine as I think most +PL boosting has been nerfed down to +2 across the board. The reason why I'd use the pike is to have the pierce hole covered as well as having the +resto stat buff on the spine. Also Wicked Beast has some other abilities that I think could be useful and more offensive oriented than the staff. Also I like poking things. And being special because no one uses that weapon. It wouldn't surprise me if Poison didn't affect Pernicious, but it hasn't been uncommon for Obsidian to fail to keyword things correctly. One way or another I need to do a lot of testing to see what does or does not work. And I need to see if I can make Assassin/Tactician work for infinite restealth backstabs. Yes I like Assassins. Downloading the beta. I wonder what is the most efficient DoT rotten druid : 1) Single class (+PL) Ancien druid (+1PL Plant/Beast) + nature godlike (+1PL) + Spine thicket green (+3 Plant/beast) + amulet (+1PL/rest) + Elevation Potion (+PL) -> should lead to epic venomblood / plague of insect... -> Firestag / Aspect of Galawain : does they get upgraded by +PL (except duration) ? (never toyed with them yet) 2) Multiclass hellwalker (+MIG/INT) / ancien druid+1PL Plant/Beast) + nature godlike (+1PL) + Spine thicket green (+3 Plant/beast) + amulet (+1PL/rest) + Elevation Potion (+PL) -> Hight might/int lead to heavydot but : -> spell gain more slowly -> no lvl 8/9 spell (is it really a con?) Any though?
  7. Concerning rogue's ability, i always wonder what is the most efficient DoT to apply (arterial/gouging/toxic). Actually i'm going : - Stealth - Tank engage and aggro everything - Buff - Artérial opening with an arquebus on the healer (+PEN, low guile cost) followed by a 2nd shoot if not enough to drop him - Stealth - Shadow form (slipper of assassin) - swap to AoE (Mortar or Tekehu's Water Rod with blast) - Rest of team launch debuff/buff on the melee pack for deathblow (<3 ciphers) - Gouging strike + Toxic strike in the middle of pack - Shadow beyond - Swap to 2h and start taking priority target one by one (or cast damage spell). I'm wondering if instead of gouging strike, using arterial strike and withdraw the tank (so melee opponent start running to you) will not be more efficient. With escape you can make them run quite a bit and drop aggro at will.
  8. This gameplay may not be the most "optimized" for damage , it's still really fun after some levels and some gear : - Redhand (arquebuse) can be looted right after landing to neketaka and give you a +40% damage bonus - Willbreaker (2h mace) can be looted very early too with no fight if you lvl up stealh a little (got 8 when i picked it) and with good use of firecrakers (lure guardians in the opposite side of the room) and have huge base damage. - Slippery of the Assassin can be bought rigth after Port-Maje, if you are lucky and found the ship. The way Boeroer describe engagement allow you to dispatch the ennemy backline in no time, while your group keep the melee locked away from you. I'm wondering if it can be worth it to pick a 3rd weapon slot, 2 handmortar and switch to mass aoe the melee after backline is taken care off. The CON of the build for me are : - Difficult early without stuff and some lvl - Vulnerable if hit - Micro heavy. Like really heavy. - No real AoE early; - Buffing party can be hard considering your positionning (behind ennemy backline) - Not the best at each things (kind a jack of all trades) The PRO of the build : - Fun; - Flexibility (Huge 1v1 Damage, AoE Damage with spell priest, Good buff, Good debuff priest+rogue, DoT... - Mobility (you have ton of escape mecanism) - Really fun - Survivability (Invisibility + Priest spells : Withdraw (PL2) and Barring Death Door (PL5)) - Did i say "Fun"? Is there a way to make the weapon switch more quickly (like real quick) without being a blackjacket ? (Secretly hoping Boeroer or Guildwritter put their build on the board )
  9. Thanks for the replys ! You summarized it quite nicely <3 ! - No doubt Bleak Walker or Soulblade multi beat it in burst damage, but honestly, these playstyle were fun the first hour and get tedious after it, pretty simple to config ia, like you said : nearly 0 micro... Moreover i see the build more as a squishy remover (mage/priest/ranger...) than a tank melter (there is ton of good build for that), no need to overkill. - Too bad no weapon allow you to backstab in aoe . Could have raised the fun factor by a lot ^^ - Was pretty sure you could cast certain buffs without breaking stealth (was remembering Xoti doing it)
  10. Hi! After a bunch of reading and some testing ( i have a heavy "restart" affliction...) i'm looking for some advices on an assassin build. I don't care too much about "Most OP" build, just looking for viable (difficulty : POE all upscalled) and RP one's . 1) Build concept : Heavy hitter comming from stealh/invis to delete foe in seconds while they are looking elsewhere (party build, no solo). Maximizing backstab. 2) Class i see fitting : option 1 : Assassin/bleakwalker option 2 : Assassin/soulblade option 3 : Assassin/Fighter or Assassin/Monk option 4 : Assassin/Priest of skaen Options 1 - 3 are good but i fear quite boring after sometimes. So i'm turning to option 4 cause : -> Fit the RP of an assassin. -> You can buff yourself while in stealth mode (letting your tanks aggro and your crowd controller starting afflicting key target) -> Skaen give you acces to : - Good buffs; - Guile free rogue's spells (invisibility is costly...) allowing you to surf across the battlefield with lot of backstab; - some survivability in "oh****" moment (Barring Death Door...) ; - throwing spell as backup when melee is dangerous; - good backup weapon (priest summoned one) when no more backstab possibility (2h->dualwield with a "free" weapon slot); Wael could be an option for more survivability but it may be more usefull on other rogue class. This one shouldn't be targetted that much. 3) Questions / advices needed : a - Weapon choice : For backstab, 2h seem the best choice (only main hand trigger backstab). I'm considering engaging with Dragon's Dowry for double tap (75% speed reload when quitting stealth) or a 2h melee -> which one ? Is Greatsword Wotep a good choice? it has low base damage but aoe (not sure if bacstab proc in aoe). After all backstabs are done, i fall back to priest summoned weapon. b - Viability / fun factor in mid-late game in POE upscalled Your though on it ? :D thanks!
