  1. You can cry a river for Lucasarts, but they aren't listening. Since one platform can't have "Director's cut"-ending, there will be no exclusive for the other, especially since Microsoft have payed fair share of the publishing money in KotOR + and they certainly don't want their platform to have a product so infirior as a lacking ending compared to the other.
  2. It seems like several games have suffered from the 'bad ending'-syndrome lately. E.g. Halo 2, Half-Life 2, Sudeki and now KotOR II. When thinking about it, what games have had an excellent ending? The only one that i can think of is FFX.
  3. Thats precisely what I mean. And I hope they do exactly that for Kotor3. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Me too. After all they used that music in the Jedi Knight series...so why not in KOTOR? I'm not saying that the whole soundtrack should be from a movies, but the tracks I've already mentioned before could easily be part of the game. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> By having an own score, it gives KotOR a character of it's own, and in a good way. When playing the JK-series, alot of the atmosphere went away when you could here the exact same music as in the movies.
  4. Indeed, play Bloodlines, Fable or something similar to pass the time.
  5. I know this is a useless comment, since it seems rather obvious that Microsoft's "blessing" probably made pushing the XBox release forward, but....technically, why would LA or Obsidian need Microsoft's blessing concerning a PC issue? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I see it as pretty obvious that Lucasarts has refreshed their NDA with Microsoft, meaning no extras for other platforms, since no Live function is available on the xbox. If the PC-version do get some extra goodies that would include changing of the ending, i would be very suprised.
  6. I'm under the impression that the next KotOR will be released on the next-gen consoles + Tim Sweeney from Epic games already stated that the Unreal Engine 3.0 will be very modular (as always) and it will suit PC's as consoles pretty well. So why not use that perticular engine? Bioware is already licensed it, and it sure can make the source-engine look like a piece of Bantha poo-doo. (Except that it costs 500000$ to license it though, pretty steep IMO.)
  7. A PC-version with an alternate ending? With Microsoft's blessing? Hahahahaha . .. .... HAHAHAHAHAHA (Don't take it personal)
  8. No overall GOTY-nomination? Meh.
  9. You never know. What games are lined up for 2005? All the anticipated "big boys" like HL2, Halo 2, GTA: SA, Fable, etc. have all been released in 2004. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Final Fantasy XII S.T.A.L.K.E.R. F.E.A.R Call of Cthulu
  10. That means more than 30 GOTY-awards, still a long road to go for Obsidian in order to achieve that. But Sith Lords has got a nice start though.
  11. Since i pretty much ignored the whole RPG-genre until KotOR, i have no idea on who you are or your reputation among Black Isle/Bioware-peeps. But i'm glad that you liked Sith Lords.
  12. Gamecontent-wise, nope. Customerservice-wise, yes.
  13. I would say that it plays a bigger part on why it's delayed overseas. Converting from NTSC to PAL is no biggie afterall. If you really want to dig deep, there will be due to following reasons. 1. North America is Xbox' biggest market, especially so close to the holidays. 2. Localization: Eventhough most people in europe prefer to play with original voice and text, there are some countries that have rules that say that all versions has to be available at the same time (take Germany and France for example). 3. It would take simply too long to have enough copies to be disitributed at all areas at the same time before the christmas shopping starts, remember Halo 2 had 5-6 weeks of preparations before its worldwide release. To put it simply, money talks.
  14. None, the PAL version was delayed due to insufficient stock supply for the international market.
  15. Hopefully not. My Half-Life 2-experience was like this: - Watching nice character-animations(kickass!!) - Driving a boat(it's going to get better! please?) - Playing around with a gravitygun(It's should be getting better somewhere after this!) - Driving a beachbuggy(What?! meh, hopfully just temporarely) - Jump-puzzles(For the love of God, NO!!) - Returning to City 17(Hey, it's getting better...) - Going inside the huge tower whateverthatnamewasagain(Eeeh, what's up with uberpowerful gravitygun? This isn't fun anymore. Excellent surroundings though). - The End (Meh, back Halo 2) To put it short, the game just stopped when it was about to start getting interesting. What a letdown.
  16. The Final Fantasy series are soft-core RPG's designed to please the fickle masses. They hardly compare in quality to PS:T, FO 1&2, BG1&2 and KotOR. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ofcourse not. But that wasn't my point My point was, that these elements don't necessarily make a bad game.
  17. Each to his own, i guess. FFX was filled with these kind of moments, but it didn't bother me at all.
  18. Actually, Bioware is working on three diffirent games at the moment. It's Jade Empire, Dragon Age, and then there's a third one that will be on the next-gen console.
  19. It's been said that the humor in KotOR II is more subtle and satirical. Not everyone seems to understand it, i guess.
  20. I actually managed to read the whole thread without reading a single spoiler, yay me! It seems like, if i understand the remarks by others, that Obsidian chose to leave the ending as a satirical pun to LS-users, "No matter what you do, your actions will mean nothing in the long run".
  21. Same dude who did the voice for is in? Interesting... is in too, yay!
  22. I'm STILL waiting for mine from LucasArts - and they're telling me that the product is backordered, or some ****e...like, obviously the demand exceeded the supply...business 101 people, if you're going to allow "pre-ordering" of your product, HAVE THE STOCK AVALIBLE TO FREAKING ALLOW IT. Christ. ...it's embarrassing. I hate LucasArts...Obsidian, i still love you... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What, is that true? Hahahaha (not to you, but to Lucasarts).
  23. you met Atris? (w00t) what does she want with you? (w00t) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sshhhhh, leave that to the spoilers forum.
  24. It might sell alot, but it's probably not going to exceed Halo 2's 5 million mark.
