At least acknowledging the existence of structural racism would be a nice first step. I am not in a mood for listening & believing. Please try to answer my initial question. Which can generally be gleaned through engagement with the core text, not vague claims of "it's totally there, honest". Nope.

It is to a certain percentage of the their initial wage (too lazy to look up now). But since women most often marry older men that already have a career, it usually ends with the men staying at work more since it is an economically sounder solution for the family.

I swear, you people are ****ing allergic to nuance. Yes, it does make it impossible for structural racism to exist against white men on a society-wide scale (in the West, at least). It never implies that individual instances of racism against whites can't exist. Lets turn the tables. I do not know what these structures are or how they are made racist, but how would you suggest society should do tear/change these structures and what counter measures should be made for racist structures to form in the first place? Or maybe, just maybe, you're a ****ing conspiracy nut who's so obsessed with seeing cultural marxism in every corner, he reads it into ****ing everything. One could draw comparisons with "oversensitive SJWs looking to get offended". Every larger text has a theme or a message. Moby **** was analogy of the whole modern western civilization trying to kill God. Moosas text had the message of as already described.

In scandinavia, men get paternity leave, but they do no use it as much as women. Stupid men. There's nothing wrong with women choosing to focus on their family at the expense of their career. But - contrary to what Mrs. Sommers likes to pretend - there's also nothing wrong with acknowledging that for many, societal pressures play a role in this choice. To claim that people are rational, free beings whose decision-making is independent of outside factors is blatant falsehood that flies in the face of everything we know about the workings of the human brain. Another point worth considering: an average of 4.8-7.1% difference is not very meaningful data. Research shows there absolutely are professions where the wage gap is effectively nonexistent, or slightly slanted towards women. In other areas... not so much. I didn't see her name in the study.

Here's MOAR: https://archive.is/6hykt Hilariously dumb. ...and look who is endorsing it: Not so long ago it was about white male gamers hating women. Now it is just white men.

I'm eagerly awaiting Expeditions: Vikings simply because of the chances for diversity, hopefully we can travel to Byzantium to serve as Varangians in the Guard, and see what a melting pot of cultures and creeds walk the legendary streets. Diversity in such a crossroad of the world, at the centre of trading routes and easily accessible by sea (the highways of the ancient world) is warranted and internally consistent. I look forward to seeing the interactions and clashes that occur in such a locale. We need more games about Byzantium. Here we have 1000-year old empire that almost no mentions except in bystanding, even among historians.

Uh, so this happened: https://twitter.com/brandonorselli/status/606559265151516674 Major sites only writing about Kickstarter projects if they get a cut from it? Something major is brewing if true.

He did vote against the "Freedom Act" as well, since it didn't go far enough. I do hope for a Sanders vs Paul as final candidates.

No one is denying this. The company looks after its interests and employees after theirs, but the problem comes when the game becomes tilted when the faceless corporations are the ones making up the laws thanks to their cosy relationship with the government. See my link about the H-1B visa "crisis" to understand what i am getting at. //edit: I am always under the assumption that the employee see honest work as the best pay in itself. The wage is just a matter of negotiation of self-interest between the interested parties.

Well, it's not that simple: http://www.computerworlduk.com/news/service-management/businesses-prefer-cut-in-house-costs-than-challenge-providers-of-outsourced-services-3590995/ Or sometimes completely misguided: http://www.entrepreneur.com/article/239202 As i already said, the climate of outsourcing is pretty much manufactured. It made sense when you could outsource the cafeteria, cleaning services and other facility services, but in some cases it doesn't work at all.

Every single person i've met in the energy sector finds the quality of service going down the drain when outsourcing to India/China and in some cases, even end up costing more for the company than keeping the services in-house. Topical: http://yro.slashdot.org/story/15/04/25/2219209/think-tanks-how-a-bill-gates-agenda-becomes-a-law Basically the need for H-1B was a manufactured crisis made by think-tanks. The reporter was awarded for Pulitzer price 2015 for this coverage.

Haven't we already uniformally dismissed that definition since it's joke? "All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others" and all that. Translation: "I'm allergic to viewing things in a wider context. Please don't make me do that." No. It is that it makes it impossible for anyone else to be racist against white men since they are according to the same theory in position of power. Logically consistent, yes, but the premise itself is too stupid to begin with. Read the Moby ****, the Bible, or whatever the same way and you will find the same result, which is it that it will be different than the overall message. For that, you have to read between the lines. The author used the Witcher 3 as an example for a greater overreaching agenda that race in games need to be more diverse and it is quite sinister (maybe i am giving the guy too much credit here) that he chose this game of all games as a platform to start from. Basically, it is subversion/deconstruction of what they percieve as the dominant culture and games are no different.

Call it what you like but if it improves peoples gaming experience and doesn't impact yours why not just support it? Racism, it just works!
-
Have you even read the article you're talking about in entirety, or just grabbed a screencap that reinforces your biases and launched into a frothing tirade as per the usual modus operandi of this topic? Yes. Not if you go by the definition of racism as "prejudice plus power". Haven't we already uniformally dismissed that definition since it's a joke? "All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others" and all that.

But its really a fantasy realm so why not just include minorities? It can still be very Slavic but I don't see the big deal? The big deal is 1) Is that it is quite racist to include minorities for the sake of them being minorities. 2) The double standard. No one is forcing the Japanese/Asian market to include whites or blacks in their games. Racism is still racism despite with "good" intensions, nice try though. Who's "we?" not needing to prompt european race? Who are you talking about? Why is it morally right for any artist pursue this racial/cultural propaganda and why should companies profit from it? Why do you feel Japanese games have to now feature European people? Answer my questions first. Okay, "we" is the general European\White race I meant to say " we have no need to promote the White race " Hahahaha, i'm done. Do you mind sharing why you are done ? Because trying to tell whites that their race and culture should not be promoted is quite evil, is it not? Like there is a certain layer of what the human expression of oneself can go before someone else puts an arbitrary stop-sign telling them that their culture just have had enough. I thought that we all worked from on the dream MLK had as a base. Maybe he was wrong after all... Dude...seriously? What? Either you judge a man by the content of his character or by the color of his skin. Are you not now judging by the color of people's skin with all these minority quotas and by proclaiming gaming as too white? Based on the latest developments, it seems like that ideal has sailed long ago and replaced by racial tokenism.

Technically, no one is forcing Western developers to include minorities in their games either. If you want to split hairs, then you got a point. There's *no push* then from media or the intelligentia for japanese/asian game companies to include non-asians. It would be hair-splitting if the... "push from media and intelligentsia", as you phrase it, had a realistic chance of achieving any effect whatsoever on how big-budget games are produced. But it doesn't. Their loss for their own stupidity then. With that mindset, i would've never played any of the Final Fantasy games. Why on earth Polygon thinks that this is good idea stems either from something very sinister or just very ignorant. This thing right here, exactly this, is what the article was about ?? That minority consumers maybe, just maybe, should be able to voice their complaints of underrepresentation without being insulted and shouted down. No, it is about having games made by white people in white countries based on white culture to be changed to suit the possible needs of minorities in other countries. That's insanity.
