I implemented a very simple RSS 2.0 feed system for board posts. It is currently in beta, so please let me know if you have any problems using it. The feed address is http://forums.obsidianent.com/rss.php. Thanks, TG

This weekend I added support for changing languages to French, German or Spanish for most board text. If you'd like to change to one of these languages, scroll down to the bottom of any forum web page, and there is a listbox in the lower left corner that says "English". You can open this box up to select another language. Please let us know if you have any problems. Thanks, TG

Interplay doesn't hold the license to Planescape. It's owned by Wizards of the Coast.

Honestly if you want to be a professional 3D artist in the game industry, you really should try to get experience with both 3dstudio max and Maya. Obsidian uses 3dstudio max exclusively, but many other dev studios use Maya. As was suggested before, look into the student packages, they're much cheaper and fully featured.

MrWhoey had some really great points. What I prefer when scanning the jobs board here at Obsidian is a very simple e-mail with two .RTF or .DOC attachments: One being a cover letter, and the other being the resume. Having a link to a resume website in your e-mail body is really great too, especially if there is sample material available for download for us to check out. Some other tips: 1) Read through your cover letter and resume before sending it. We've had some people apply to us with different company names in their cover letters - needless to say, they didn't get hired. 2) Spell check, grammar check, and be sure you're using proper punctuation and capitalization. 3) Keep your cover letter and resumes fairly brief. Cover letter should be one page at most, resume one page if possible, two at most. Also, please include 2-3 references. Having to request them takes time and employers may forget about you. Also, make sure your references know they may be called. Nothing like catching a reference offguard, it can make things go poorly. 4) Make sure the subject of your e-mail is useful. Keep it brief, but try to include the position you're applying for and your name. Good example: "Game Programmer Application - " Bad Examples, "Application", "Resume", "][ w4nt 4 j0b!@", "..." 5) Stay professional - Even if you really, really want to work someplace, it's best not to come on strong with how great the company is and/or how much you really want to work there - It can easily frighten away your prospective employer. 6) Be Patient - You may not hear back from the company for some time (even months in some cases...). Businesses have lots of deadlines, tons of stress, and sometimes employers can focus little time to browsing through resumes. Hang in there, though. 7) Try to Have Sample Work Easily Available - If at all possible, try to demonstrate some of your talent, whether it be a movie file someone can download, or a .zip file containing sample work. Including a link to a website that contains this content is great. Hope that helps, and good luck on your job hunting!

Yep, if you ever blocked the cookie our forum server tries to save on your computer, it will always think you aren't logged in. If you're using Internet Explorer, select Tools->Internet Options, and select the Privacy tab. Click the Sites... button and see if there is an "Always Block" entry next to obsidianent.com. If so, remove that entry and log in again.

Hi newc, It's still there, on the icon if you look in the lower right corner, there should be an inverse L there that indicates you've posted in a particular topic.

It had nothing to do with anything mentioned above.

Hmmm, I was able to get into that page. Try this: 1) Cleaning out your Temporary Internet files 2) Cleaning out your cookies 3) Make sure you have the latest Windows Updates (if you use Windows) 4) Try downloading Netscape, Firefox or Opera and see if the problem still exists in one of those browsers. It's most likely just IE being funky if that's what you use.

This evening we completed a software update to the forums -- if you notice any problems, please send me or the moderators a PM. Thanks, The Guildmaster

Craftsman: We're going to go with option A. Weiser Cain: You can, click the Members link in the upper right hand corner and then near the bottom of the page there are four listboxes. The first listbox allows you to filter by group on the board.
