At this point there is a crack in the world (you don't fall through, but you can see through it) Rift Location

deidre.benton started following Lost the ability to equip the torch
-
After the latest update, I lost the ability to equip my torch from my buggy. It used to be V to equip it while riding but now V just brings up the hotbar wheel. I have the torch on my hotbar so I tried selecting it from there, but it does not equip my torch. If I want to use my torch while riding my buggy I now have to dismount, equip/unequip my torch, then remount. I am playing this through the xbox app and I have tried to verify and repair, but that does not resolve it. I simply can no longer easily use my torch while riding anymore and it is a major pain

two more things I have found. first: I have over 20 gold cards and still no trapper peeper unlocked Second: I have noticed that if you take any amount of damage while standing on top of a bug you instantly die. This has happened to me fighting a wolf spider where it hit me mid air while i landed on a larva. This has also happened when taking fall damage on a buggy, where instead of being thrown off to the side, you are thrown to where you land on the buggy, killing you immediately. -

Not a shock, he's mentioned this kind of crap before. All the more dangerous that snake Miller is around him -
For information, since the latest patch released today (2025-08-06), I no longer have an automatic crash on launching a solo game or after 2 minutes of gameplay. I did encounter a bug where a blackscreen appears and eventually block the computer, but that is most likely more on NVIDIA/Microsoft side than the game because it's something I got in other games as well (see this thread on the NVIDIA forums).

That is a rather different concept to what RFK was talking about though. Well, probably, he doesn't seem to have much in the way of grasp on one or all of semantics/ reality/ science, and practicality, so who knows what he really means. The concept of having vaccines target something fundamental in virus families to reduce the effect of mutation and target the whole family (eg orthomyxoviridae/ flu) at once is far from new, certainly. But he's talking about a 'universal' vaccine apparently as an actual universal vaccine, not just for a family. Flu virus and coronavirus are not closely related at all- at viral Kingdom level- despite both being ssRNA viruses. The corollary would be something like wanting a universal solution for piranha and lions because they both eat people; and share many other similarities that surely can be targeted, like a spine and haemoglobin? There has been a lot of work on targeting reverse transcriptase which is the enzyme that turns viral RNA into DNA and could, very theoretically, target any RNA virus. But even that wouldn't be universal since there are DNA viruses too. Overall, more practical than horse dewormer or injecting bleach, but not that much so. -
my mount has a bug, it's buried in the map, i get close and i can't even create another one?!, with this, I can't progress in the game!

Core Idea: Introduce a dynamic seasonal system (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter) to add environmental variety, bug behavior changes, survival mechanics, and new gear progression paths. --- Seasonal Effects Spring Rain occurs frequently. Bugs such as worms, mosquitoes, and tadpoles become more active. Terrain becomes muddy/slippery; puddles can flood areas or uncover new zones. Increased resource growth (plant fibers, sprouts, fungi). Summer High sizzle zones (e.g., sand, metal, rocks) become more dangerous. Daylight is longer, giving more time to explore. Bugs are most aggressive and varied. Sizzle debuff becomes more intense unless wearing heat-resistant gear. Fall Leaves fall dynamically and can alter the map (new access routes or blockages). Harvest-themed resources (e.g., nuts, berries, mushrooms) become more abundant. Insect population starts to shift—more aggressive ones prepare for winter. Winter Snowfall covers portions of the map. Most bugs hibernate or go into hiding (fewer enemies overall). Ice/snow alters traversal (slippery branches, frozen water). You need warmth gear or consumables to avoid the “chill” debuff. Stockpile food or materials in Fall to survive — food can spoil slower due to cold. Some new cold-based bugs appear (snow fleas, ice ants, maybe frost mites). Resources become scarcer — a push toward strategic planning. --- Gameplay Benefits Encourages players to revisit old areas each season for new content. Enhances immersion and world-building (life cycle of bugs & nature). New tiered seasonal armor sets and consumables for buffs/debuffs. Adds depth to base-building — fireplaces, insulation, weatherproofing. Increased replay value and long-term engagement.

Obsidians response when I informed them and I quote, "Since you are experiencing constant crashes, this could be related to your console. Firstly, we would suggest you check that the console is not overheating. If the console has proper airflow and you are still experiencing constant crashes, we suggest you try the steps mentioned in the following article: Xbox Support | Help with crashes." I know it's not my console since other games work just fine.

Never mind - this was user error. I didn't realize that there is a hotkey to hide/show those map markers, and I must have accidentally hit it at some point. I guess my feedback would be that it should be clearly noted somewhere, such as on the map, if you have those toggled on/off, so users understand it is a possibility, without digging through the key config. It occurred to me that something might have been wrong with my settings, but I looked all around the in-game UIs, and didn't see anything - I only thought to check the keybinds after it became obvious something else was up, when I started a new game and didn't have the map markers visible there.
