I have a question about unlocking the CD key on Steam.

It's been so long since I used the CD key, I'm questioning if I actually did so. I mean, I've been playing the Beta for a while now, so I assume I used the CD key already. I'm just a little nervous, since the store page for Deadfire says I need to buy the game still.

When the game goes live Tuesday, will the Beta become the full game, or do I have to use a CD key again?

Thanks!!

If you have activated it on Steam, there should be Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire in your library and you should be able to preload it. Backer Beta does not change into a full release. You need to get the full release key from eternity.obsidian.net and activate it on Steam (or GOG if that is what you prefer).

Keys for the beta and full game are seperate items. If you redeemed your full release game it should be in your library (gog or steam). If you didn’t, do it via backer portal, just as you did with the beta.

If steam version is anything like gogs, even if you redeem your key, store might not show Deadfire as bought. Gog’s fig version is a seperate item than the purchasable one, meaning gog will claim forever that I don’t own Deadfire.

Thanks everyone. I was so silly. Totally didn't see the key for the full game in the portal. I redeemed the key and the game shows up in my Steam library now, ready to go!

they still make games on CD??

honestly didnt know that

The game's in your library, mate. Just pre-load it and be happy that you have it safely tucked on your harddrive when you're ready to rock. I've already prepared myself by having twelve beer, four bags of crisps, and a dozen taco shells stored in the cupboard. My body is READY!  :dancing:  :dancing:  :dancing:

But, but, taco shells by themselves will surely make you thirsty! I don't believe the 12 beers can account for that!

Anyway, this is a CRPG, man. It's Mountain Dew and Cheetos or bust!!!

Taco shells by themselves? What sort of monster do you think I am?!  :skeptical:

Of course I'm not letting them be by themselves. There's gonna be a lot of goodies stuffed inside those babies. Something tells me I won't be out enjoying the sunshine for quite some time so a lot of planning has taken place to sort me out for the next two weeks.
