Bhall Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 Is it still going to be impossible or not? I think i heard Josh mention that it should be possible in Deadfire during the long interview Q+A section.
malchiorita Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 Quite sure it wont be possible by ingame mechanics. But it should doable via console commands? Btw does anyone know if it is possibile to add a subclass to companion via console commands?

Bhall Posted April 16, 2018 Author Posted April 16, 2018 Check the Obsidian twich channel. There is about 1 hour long Q+A with Josh and one more obsidian guy. They are showing part of a new big dungeon similar to the endless paths. During that they are answering questions and if i recall correctly Josh says, that he is pretty sure it will be possible. But i dont know. 1

Cheston Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 Even if it's not, I'm confident companions' attributes will be moddable. (Both from having dug around the beta files and from it being a thing back in Pillars 1.
baldurs_gate_2 Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 In the first game, i never used any of the companions, always created my own party with min / max stats. That's maybe a bit harsh storywise / lorewirse, but gameplaywise it's truly better.
Bhall Posted April 16, 2018 Author Posted April 16, 2018 I am also someone who is trying to min max things, so i would appreciate an option to modify the attributes.

That's maybe a bit harsh storywise / lorewirse, but gameplaywise it's truly better. Not really - because official companions start one level above hirelings and thus have a big advantage in the early game. And in the late game some of them even get unique talents/abilities nobody else can get. It's a self-induced illusion or hearsay that min-maxed hirelings generally make the game easier. How do you know the difference if you never used any of the official companions? 1 Deadfire Community Patch: Nexus Mods
