delpheki Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Soldier can be discarded by heroes without weapons and without the melee skill using strength for combat.
0 Brainwave Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Are you sure? The soldier isn't discarded to add to a melee check, it's recharged. Sheriff Hemlock is discarded but adds to any combat check... It's certainly possible that this could be a bug, I mean there's a lot out there but I've been running with 3 soldier allies with my current group but I haven't seen this.

He meant recharged And i was thinking about it and i still think its the combat check not the soldier thats wrong Since they auto default on the combat check to the strength die without letting us choose if we want to use the possible 1d4 for unskilled melee I would think everyone has the hidden power "for your combat check you may roll your strength or melee skill" and tacked on the melee trait to it Edit where it should be "for your combat check you may roll your strength or melee skill, if you used the melee skill add the melee trait" Edited May 20, 2016 by icdumppl

I used.... Kyra I think with Holy Light, and the soldier recharged for a boost. The check at the top just said "combat" but when I clicked the dropdown to try to change types, the only option was Combat-Divine. And I was definitely getting my divine bonus. (It's possible it was Seoni and an Arcane Deck B->2 spell, but pretty sure it was Kyra)
