Yeah, as Infinitron said he just means he ain't an engineer or weaponsmith, nor makes the actual gunpowder himself.  He can still fire a gun without knowing how it works, just like how your average person can drive a car without having a clue on how they actually work.

lol yeah it makes no sense, as "talent with gunpowder" is more commonly used to boast of ones ability to shoot a gun. Maybe Kana is referring to his Miss Rate? I noticed that he misses quite a bit, and loads very slowly. That can certainly count as "talentless"

Kana is an intellectual; he is far more impressed with the alchemy and mathematics required to craft propellents. 

But the skinny, short things running around the Dyrwood? He can mow those down with blade or gun, no problem.

It does? I have literally never heard anyone say they have "talent with gunpowder" to mean "I am good with guns".
