Because I am ashamed, that Slovak media do not report almost anything about this incident which happend one day before Paris executed by ISIS, please allow me to express the condolences to all the people which lost they relatives in this despicable act of cowardice and terorrism at least here, and also express hope, that media in your country are not as blind to these events as ours.

Also allow me to express the admiration for this man, which gave away his life in an exceptional act of courage and saved hundreds of lives of innocent people from tragic death.

Please, do pray for Paris, but do not forget to pray for Beirut as well.

The apathy to tragic events like this, is halfway to the victory of terrorism against all humanity.

I admire and respect people like this man. Hats off, I salute you and can only hope that your daughter will remember you as a hero in her heart and that it will give her strength to grow up without the presence of such a father.

I wish that story had a few more details. Was curious as to what exactly happened...but I guess since bombs were going off, it's understandable that details are scarce.

Can't we all just live in peace and happiness? :(

How I have existed fills me with horror. For I have failed in everything - spelling, arithmetic, riding, tennis, golf; dancing, singing, acting; wife, mistress, whore, friend. Even cooking. And I do not excuse myself with the usual escape of 'not trying'. I tried with all my heart.

In my dreams, I am not crippled. In my dreams, I dance.

Was reported in here, nothing too much other than just reporting on the two bombs and the death toll. Also had some Lebanese woman call for earthquakes to hit Saudi Arabia and the US for some reason.

Paris wins the tragedy Olympics playing now, sorry.

yeah it does, because it is culturally closer to all the major global players.

Presumably he rugby style tackled the guy. That makes a huge difference because a lot of the explosive force and shrapnel from his belt is then forced into the ground and the blast radius is thus heavily reduced. And of course the tackler ends up soaking up a lot of the remaining force too, sadly. If you're close enough to tackle him you're likely dead either way, so might as well give the terrorist the middle finger and save others.

Strangely enough the first thing I thought about when reading about that guy (couple of days ago) was Frank Burns in MASH jumping on a deactivated grenade that someone dropped as a prank.

I admire this post because you clearly are passionate about the topic and that story about the sacrifice is sad yet admirable
