So... have we found a way to extract and import models into the game yet?

Recommended Posts

Title says it all; I know that there is Unity Assets Explorer:

Which allows extracting files out of the unity archives. The problem now is: how can I get them back into the archives once modified?

I plan on editing some armor and weapon models, but couldn't find a way to:

1) combine the mesh, material, transformation, etc. files into a single animated model to be opened with 3ds max or blender (fbx?).

2) transform those files back into game-readable files.

Any solutions? I can use Asset Explorer to modify and import/export textures into the game, but I can not do the same for models right now.

I haven't looked into it yet as I'm still busy with my first playthrough; but I think Bester made some tool that makes this possible. I think it was called "unity asset editor" or something.

It hasn't been updated unfortunately.  I tried it and it resaves files incorrectly and doesn't work with the game.

If anyone figures something out, please let me know.

Having trouble with the games combat on POTD, Trial of Iron?

- Think Rangers suck? You're wrong - [RANGER BUILD] + Tactics/Strategies - [CLICK HERE]

- Fighter Heavy Tank - [FIGHTER BUILD] + Tactics/Strategies - [CLICK HERE]

Despite what I may post, I'm a huge fan of Pillars of Eternity, it's one of my favorite RPG's.

Also, it requires unity. I'd rather have a standalone tool for extracting/importing, tbh.

You think Unity would have a command line tool for this, but it doesn't, from what I hear unity 5 will be mod friendly.
