MadDemiurg Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 (edited) Don't see the point in this poll, since you use a party anyway (unless you go solo, which I assume is not the focus of the poll), so your Watcher class matters very little. From optimization standpoint, for dialog choices full tank classes with high int/per/res seem to be the best. So Chanter or Paladin. Most likely Chanter, since Chanter >>> Paladin. From pure power standpoint Watcher should probably use one of the classes with better scaling (read: spellcasters) since hired mercs will be a level lower for the most part and most default companions have bad stats. From pure fun standpoint for me: Cipher > Wizard > Druid > Priest > Chanter > Monk > Rogue > Barbarian > Ranger > Paladin > Fighter Edited April 19, 2015 by MadDemiurg 1

With the change in position from cipher<->wizard my list is exactly the same if you rank them in fun. Edited April 19, 2015 by Ouroboros226
Voltron Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Barbarian. First time in RPG games it is not class inferior to Figher/Warrior with just some Frenzy ability which is mostly meh. Carnage skill, OSA and Defiance make him unique character and that is why I will stop patching game if I will see that next patch is bringing nerf to OSA. I have to much fun and with him, either solo (more tank) or in party (super glass cannon build). Great class, really. Second is Cipher since I was always a fan of Star Wars and Siths and my Cipher is evil guy (party PoTD,) with ton of mind-control and damaging powers, fighting with two-handed sword/estoc. Love the concept. Many powers are meh, but so are 70% of all talents/spells in this game. [POE1] Nirvana Monk build- Tank/DPS monk for soloing PotD and Endless Paths. High anti CC build. [POE2] Sword Singer build - Tank/DPS War Caller or Herald build for solo PotD. High melee dmg, summons, + super tanky [POE2] BURN BABY BURN! - Solo PotD Ultimate burning/fire NUKE Votary build with superb AOE/Single Target flame and burn damage. [POE2] BLEAK HUNTRESS. Solo PotD Holy Slayer ranged sniper assassin build.
Lady Evenstar Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 I chose cipher because I prefer to play a caster and to have the option of interesting ability choices in every encounter. Not knowing how challenging the game would be during the period in which you must travel solo made me reluctant to rely on a low health, low accuracy character with limited defenses and very limited per encounter abilities. That would not be a concern in the future, but it was in choosing a first character. Also Grieving Mother is not available pre-Caed Nua.
