AnarchyJesus Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 there was an old character sheet screen shoot shows that you can, but later some one in beta told me you cant. now the game came can someone tell me for sure now? 1
Baron_Bathory Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 (edited) I asked this a little while ago. To my extreme dismay, no you can not. I think it's ridiculous, but one of the devs said it should be in a future patch or possibly expansion. ***Edit*** My thread here: https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/70882-will-we-be-able-to-saveimportexport-characters/ Edited March 26, 2015 by Baron_Bathory
AnarchyJesus Posted March 26, 2015 Author Posted March 26, 2015 errrrrrrrrrr....lvl my toon up then export to start again to solo or play on a higher diffconty is my fav part of bg and iwd. i dont understand why they remove such a simpal and key feature, even obsidian's own nwn2 have it and it was great. hell im gon have to wait till they add it before thinking about buying it again. 2
Baron_Bathory Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 I agree. Playing solo at high levels and exploding everything in your path was a huge thing for me, I can't believe they didn't include it. I hope they weren't lying when they said we should have it sooner or later.
AnarchyJesus Posted March 26, 2015 Author Posted March 26, 2015 i read your post, lol dont know how you kept your cool. if its me posted the question first instead of you i be raging out on those comments long before that. 1
Baron_Bathory Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 haha I hear ya. It ended up being a miscommunication between me and the gentleman I was arguing with. In any case, for me, it's also a key feature. I love replaying at max level, it's pretty much what I work up to in every RPG. Here's hoping it comes and thanks for the support. :D 1
Legion of One Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 I too read your thread. It seems there's always someone who want to argue for the sake of arguing and make up a lot of 'fluff' to keep it going. That aside, I was about to buy the game on steam, but when I discovered the no new game + mode I put my cc away. Several of my friends feel the same way. I'm truly surprised the devs overlooked this. It's a feature a lot of old school gamers just expect to be there.
Ink Blot Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Until such time as this feature is implemented, it's easy enough to use the in-game developer console to give your newly-created character, all the same stats, gear, and money. A bit more time consuming, to be sure, but at least it gives you the ability to have an ersatz 'import' feature. 1
Luckmann Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 The problem is that for PoE, there's still no reason to have the function, save cheating. And if someone wants to cheat, there's the console, capable of doing pretty much anything to the character(s).Until such a time as when there's a solid reason beyond abuse to include the feature, I don't think we'll be seeing it.That being said, I in no way oppose it's implementation. I just wanted to point out the lack of a real point. I agree. Playing solo at high levels and exploding everything in your path was a huge thing for me, I can't believe they didn't include it. I hope they weren't lying when they said we should have it sooner or later. When did they say that?
MalVeauX Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Heya, I would enjoy this feature. I too enjoy taking a character through a few play-throughs so that you have the initial experience, the re-experience, and then the "I walk through cities and they burn" experience. Since there's no real big supply of protagonist villain based games, it's as close as it gets to being a high level character rolling the game and not being nice to everyone doing it. Very best,
Ink Blot Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 When did they say that? Not in concrete terms, but it was indicated as a possibility in the future: Here

Which was really my whole point. Edited July 7, 2015 by Luckmann
Ink Blot Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 Indicated as a possibility to be looked into is an insurmountable gulch of a difference compared to making a promise that we should see it sooner or later. Which was really my whole point. Yeah, I agree. My intent wasn't to imply that they promised anything but rather that the statement I linked was likely what Baron_Bathory was referring to. 1
