Question

Posted (edited)

Hello everyone.

I have downloaded and installed the GOG version of the game, but after running it, it shows Obsidian, Paradox and Kickstarter logos and immediately crashes with a message that I should send the folder with the log to the developer. So, how and to whom should I send it?

Edit: I've uploaded the folder with the log

16.0 GB RAM

Some error output logs below.

Going to try to load another license on my desktop tomorrow; we'll see how that goes I guess? :)

sick puppy: You're crash is happening when contacting Steam for achievement data. You likely just need to update Steam to the latest version.

Cant EDIT: I added spoiler tags as the log is rather long. Good luck, aricww. Hopefully your extensive log helps isolate whatever the issue is.

I don't use precision x no sorry. I do use Geforce experience, which I exited. I've just verified local game cache which told me 4 files could not be verified and needed to be reinstalled. After download I was able to get to character creation screen (first time past loading screen). I will update tomorrow if this works through to game running stable. :)

Thanks for quick interaction Devs!

Can anyone else that is crashing try verifying their local game cache and see if that fixes it? And if not, what language do you expect the game is running in (English, Spanish, etc.)?

I've tried it a couple times and neither time did any good.  I am running the game in English (I assume).

I did verify local game cache to no avail.

I expect the game is running in English.

I'm verifying again as I write this, but not only did I already verify before, I also downloaded the whole game again. Both to no avail, so I don't think the problem is a corrupt download.

I'm trying to run the game in english. At least I think so, can't look it up now.

Edit: All files successfully validated. The game still doesn't work, unfortunately.

Everyone else crashing after logos, do you have a program called running EVGA Precision X?

Just in case it helps in some small way, I have EVGA Precision v4.2.1 running and have no crashes, after logos or otherwise, so far.

I believe this has something to do with Unity/PoE not reading the memory correctly..

People have 4GB+ memory but it's giving a reading of 0 in most of the cases:

0 MB physical memory [1435 MB free].
0 MB paging file [0 MB free].
0 MB user address space [3562 MB free].

0 MB physical memory [0 MB free].
0 MB paging file [0 MB free].
0 MB user address space [3556 MB free].

Apart from the output file I posted earlier, Ekital's post is what I'm seeing in error.log.

FIX FOUND:

Run your command prompt as administrator (cmd)

Type command: attrib -r -s c:/Windows/Fonts

Go to the Fonts folder (C:/Windows/Fonts)

Delete font called UNCL

Have fun guys :D

EDIT: It has to do with corrupted fonts, if you still can't play after deleting UNCL please keep posting your error.log file and read the first few lines. It should say XXXXXX.TTF, which is a font file. Delete that font and continue until it works.

EDIT #2:

After you delete the font it's a good idea to restore the font folder to it's original state, simply type the command:

attrib +r +s c:/Windows/Fonts

To re-enable read-only.
