Caerdon Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 How do they hide in shadows? I'm actually being quite serious here. They shoud get a significant penalty to sneaking in dark corridors. Or is there, perhaps, a lore explanation how they can suppress their flames for a while if they concentrate or something? Should this be visualized in-game? (Sorry if this has been discussed before. I didn't find anything, though.) 1
IndiraLightfoot Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 [joke] Yes. Please explain this! How? It's a burning issue. I'm sitting on hot needles right now. [/joke] It is an interesting question, actually - and it's related to that other thread about druids and rangers bringing animal companions into towns and villages, and why nobody reacts one bit. 5 *** "The words of someone who feels ever more the ent among saplings when playing CRPGs" ***

It must be afwully common, then.
Giantevilhead Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 They can probably alter the flames so that it doesn't emit light on the visible spectrum.
Sarex Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 They can probably alter the flames so that it doesn't emit light on the visible spectrum. LoL, now that's funny. "because they filled mommy with enough mythic power to become a demi-god" - KP
I Roll 20 Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 (edited) They use a hood, bro. However, I do wonder if you pour kerosene on them do they combust, eventhough the flames are harmless. Edited August 21, 2014 by I Roll 20
Karkarov Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 They pretend to be a torch in a wall sconce. Or get in the fetal position and pretend to be a campfire. 2
InsaneCommander Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 They use a hood, bro. However, I do wonder if you pour kerosene on them do they combust, eventhough the flames are harmless. And what happens when they go to sleep? Do they start a fire in the inn? Or do they sleep on a chair?

I haven't seen how this looks in the game, it might be really jarring for all I now, but it seems like one of those "gameisms" that you just need to suspend disbelief for. That being said, it would look really cool if they dimmed them during sneaking. Like holding a breath, but with you head, with flames.
