True Neutral or How most CRPGs pigeonhole you into Lawful Good and Chaotic Evil

Actually it could work well in the scripted encounters where time is a concern.  You get the animated image, you read the description of the scenario, then you get a button you click... Make your Choice!  Then your options pop and since you have to read them you get say... thirty seconds to a full minute to make a call.  Conversation wise I don't really see it working, but then you can always just lock conversations to force you to choose something anyway.  Just include the "say nothing" option in there for those who need it.

Sorry. We were practicing being True Neutral, feeling absolutely no obligation to adhere to any particular topic. :)

Should we not start with some Ipelagos, or at least some Greater Ipelagos, before tackling a named Arch Ipelago? 6_u

How is this debate still going? We won guys! There is going to be an inspired reputation system which tracks various character traits and makes no moral judgements on your person, it leaves the moral judgement of your character traits to the individual interpretation of the NPC's in the game.

Technically speaking, most RPGs pigeonhole you into neutral evil at best. They rarely ever reached chaotic evil.

I would disagree a bit with original premise.  Only D&D games try to pigeon hole you, as other games almost universally do not copy its alignment system.  Granted, maybe most CRPGs are D&D but they're mostly from a very tiny set of companies too.  Planescape was the one and only D&D game that had alignment make sense, all the others it was silly nonsense.
