Rob Nesler
Hi Rob, Any word on when we'll next see the Orlan/Aumaua concept sketches? Wouldn't you rather see "god-like" concept sketches first?
Hormalakh
I'd rather see them all at the same time: right now! But I'll make do with whatever you got. Falkon Swiftblade
speaking of art updates, any rough outlines/ideas of what the next few updates will be? How long is the pre pro cycle for this before the fun starts? How many artists are on staff, and how are the teams broken up?

Hormalakh
How many artists are on staff, and how are the teams broken up? They've already answered this a while back. Actually I think that information is in this very update. Actually I think that information is in this very update. Actually I haven't read all through this, but I believe he only called out specific folks. I can't imagine there only being like 3-5 artists. Even the tiny mobile game studio I started marketing on had 2 artists, and quickly grew to like 4-5.

Rob mentioned most of the people in this update, except 1 or 2 that will be coming on later. They weren't set in stone, but one is Brian Menze. Anyway, most of teh artists and their respective departments were mentioned. edit: found it Kien Tran Dimitri Berman Polina Hristova Rob Nesler Hector Espinoza James Chea Sean Dunny Mark Bremerkemp Antonio Govela Edited January 23, 2013 by Hormalakh My blog is where I'm keeping a record of all of my suggestions and bug mentions. http://hormalakh.blogspot.com/ UPDATED 9/26/2014 My DXdiag: http://hormalakh.blogspot.com/2014/08/beta-begins-v257.html

Hormalakh
Most of them are highly experienced and have worked on previous games. These guys are professionals. I wouldn't worry about the art. Iit's also why I looked into it: I wanted to know that the art staff was awesome. I was not disappointed. Rooting for you guys. matternicuss
I'm really digging the art direction for PE. So many fantasy themed games today look too kiddy or cartoony for my tastes. This strikes a good balance between the fantastical and the naturalistic methinks. The first screenshot alone made me want to play! I'm an artist myself (recently graduated), and I've always wanted to help in the creation of games (the artistic side, that is). How does an artist get into the industry? Many of the developer sites I've been to (including Obsidian's) want artists to have a minimum of 4 years experience in the industry. Are there good starting positions for artists that don't have high qualification requirements? How did you get your foot in the door, Rob? Anyways, the game looks fantastic so far and I can't wait to get my hands on it! Congratulations on surpassing the Kickstarter goal btw!
