Please include these. I can't imagine you wouldn't, but a recent discussion over at BSN brought the issue to mind.

I really miss the ability to go back through dialogue or combat events to review what happened.

I'd especially like to be able to review the conversation log during conversations, so if I don't remember specifically what someone said a minute ago, I can go check.

Thanks for listening.

I'd appreciate it if conversation text and combat text aren't all squidged into the same window, also, so that if you get into a minor fight you don't have to scroll up 85 pages to figure out what the heck that one guy said before the fight started. But having a text combat log really does help with situations where you suddenly implode and have no idea how or why it happened. It's nice to be able to go back and see, "oh, those 400 archers ALL SHOT ME AT ONCE" or "ahh, spell crit" or SOMETHING.

I can live without it, but given the choice I'd rather have it.

Also, please let us set how verbose we want it to be.

Eh, all the IE games had a combination, so I'm suuuuure Obsidian will have something for that. I'd like full transcripts kept in the journal area between sessions. Combat log and dialogue log in separate tabs of the text box.

I'll second this motion. Interruptions are a fact of life and the ability to quickly review what happened just before I was called away to deal with a bothersome something or other would come in handy.

Aye, this would be good. And when it comes to combat logs, I would like to see some descriptive options there, in a similar fashion as in Fallout 1 and 2, for example:

"Raider was hit for 35 hitpoints in the groin. He falls like a rag." (Ain't the best of examples but the only one I could remember of the top of my head, and there were some very much more descriptive possibilities)

But anyway, I'd like to see something like that in P:E combat logs, if they're present.

This would be really cool for crits.

I don't need such colorful descriptions, but the combat log should detail whether or not an avatar was "critted" and other such information. The one in NWN1 was quite useful.

While not confirmed at all, I am reasonable certain something like this will exist.

None of this is really happening. There is a man. With a typewriter. This is all part of his crazy imagination.

Yeah, I'm sure they'll figure out something intuitive for this, but I'll voice my support as well. I don't really mind having to scroll up as I did in BG for example, but I suppose that something like Frenetic Pony mentioned could be useful, a simple way to temporarily hide the combat or dialogue text so as to quickly find what you're looking for.
