Sargallath Abraxium Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 ...a moment o' silence ta mourn the centennial o' a terrible disaster... ...WHO LUVS YA, BABY!!... A long, long time ago, but I can still remember, How the Trolling used to make me smile. And I knew if I had my chance, I could egg on a few Trolls to "dance", And maybe we'd be happy for a while. But then Krackhead left and so did Klown; Volo and Turnip were banned, Mystake got run out o' town. Bad news on the Front Page, BIOweenia said goodbye in a heated rage. I can't remember if I cried When I heard that TORN was recently fried, But sadness touched me deep inside, The day...Black Isle died. For tarna, Visc, an' the rest o' the ol' Islanders that fell along the way
Gorth Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 You get that sinking feeling... Of the three sisters, only Olympic lived to see the end of WWI. Ironically, she was the first launched. Titanic struck an iceberg and sank, Britannic struck a mine/torpedo and sank. Poor track record. Edit: I love this old picture showing Titanic during construction in Belfast, sitting just next to its "sister" Olympic Titanic being built 1 “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. Hurlshort Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 You get that sinking feeling... Too soon for jokes Gorth! People died!
Krookie Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 You get that sinking feeling... Too soon for jokes Gorth! People died! And the deaths of those on board are just the tip of the iceberg! Think of all the families that were torn apart before you make offensive puns! 1
Gorth Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Punitive retribution... bad jokes ahoy! Q: What sits on the bottom of the Ocean and shakes? A: A nervous wreck. Q: What's a sign that you have an irrational fear of icebergs? A: You start having water-tight compartments installed in your pants. In England in 1912 a guy found a lamp and suddenly a genie popped out. The genie said, "I will grant you one wish." The guy was not well-to-do, so he said, "I want to live in luxury for the rest of my life." "Fine," said the genie, "Here's a first class ticket for the Titanic." What goes down well with ice? The Titanic! Titanic was about to sink. People on the ship were shouting, crying, running and praying. A passenger went up to the captain to ask him a question. Passenger: How far are we from land? Captain: Two miles... Passenger: Only two miles, then why are these fools making so much noise. I can swim that far easily. Captain:.....Uh???? Passenger: In which direction should I swim? Captain: Downward.. 1 “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. Hurlshort Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 I'll just leave this here. http://i.imgur.com/vynW8.png I'd be shocked, but I get stuff like this from my students all day.
LadyCrimson Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 I'm sure. It's not so much shocking or unexpected as it is just...disheartening. “Things are as they are. Malcador Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Reminds me of the Asian girl in University saying "I don't even know where Korea is". Why has elegance found so little following? Elegance has the disadvantage that hard work is needed to achieve it and a good education to appreciate it. - Edsger Wybe Dijkstra
Humodour Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 You get that sinking feeling... Also known as my birthday.
Calax Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Ohhhh... they made the ship titanic and they made her out of steel They said no storm will ever break her keel But god raised his hand and shot a rubber band and the greatest ship went dooown.... It was sad... so sad (It wasn't happy) It was sad when the greatest ship went down to the bottom of the, husbands and wives, little children they all died It was sad when the greatest ship went down. >.> remembered from boyscout camp. Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition! Kevin Butler will awesome your face off.
Gorth Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Removing the original soundtrack alone made that trailer worth watching “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would surely suffice.” - Albert Einstein
Cantousent Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Holy Crap, SA, you're old enough you were probably a passenger on the Titanic. Bastard. If you report me, I'll either deny the whole thing or blame it on the Jameson. I'll just point out that, having endured three viewings of Titanic for various people, nine hours is about seven hours too long for the film.
