Humanoid Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Rarely ever use headphones since I don't have to worry about bothering any co-inhabitants with a chunky set of speakers, but decided to retire my Audio Technica AD700s because I just couldn't get used to the bulk. Disappointing because I bought them as replacements for my equally massive but somehow much more comfortable Philips HP890s (which I retired after a few years of running repairs using superglue and electrical tape). No complaints about the AT sound though. Replacing with a pair of Alessandro MS-1s which are basically a modded version of the Grado on-ear phones like in the opening post of this thread, haven't received them yet though. For my portable player I use the venerable Koss PortaPros which have been manufactured with basically no design changes since 1984. Love them to bits - and under $30 imported (vs $100 local retailers are asking for....). L I E S T R O N GL I V E W R O N G
Spider Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Yeah, the PortaPros are crazy good value. Just bought a pair of iPortaPro to go with my phone, and it feels awesome.
Raithe Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Since I pretty much only use headphones rather then speakers, I had to get some decent ones when mine broke over christmas. Picked up a Razer Carcharias Gaming Headset, and dang, that's comfortable to be wearing for hours at a time. Full over-ear coverage, and the sound quality is good. Haven't gotten around to using the microphone for anything yet.. but the rest is all good. "Cuius testiculos habeas, habeas cardia et cerebellum."
Spider Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 For my computer I have a pair of Logitech G35. They are awesome. The look kinda big and they feel heavy when lifting them up, but they aren't when on. Great sound and great features (although I find it kinda odd to have a red light shining as an indicator that the mic is off, for me shining light means on. But that is just a nitpick).
Hurlshort Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Anyone know of any decent, comfortable wireless headphones? Preferably something under $100, but that might be too hard to find.
