Darth Ravok Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 Like most RPG's there have been food effects. For KOTOR2 i think they should have added food in making it effect how well you fight... if u havent eaten in a while you will miss a lot and be vulnerable to attacks
Leferd Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 This is not a good idea. Why? Because it will make the game tedious. There is a direct inverse correlation between tediousness and fun factor. Games that are not fun generally do not sell well. "Things are funny...are comedic, because they mix the real with the absurd." - Buzz Aldrin."P-O-T-A-T-O-E" - Dan Quayle
Archmonarch Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 Very true, Leferd. Thats a bad idea. I still dont like it all that much in GTA San Andreas. And I find it kind of funny I find it kind of sad The dreams in which I'm dying Are the best I've ever had
Darth Ravok Posted August 12, 2004 Author Posted August 12, 2004 I can tell you guys arent very good at RPG's if you think food is tedious... most rpg's have food in them effecting ur battle efforts
Archmonarch Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 You can be good at RPG's and still find food tedious. Case in point. And I find it kind of funny I find it kind of sad The dreams in which I'm dying Are the best I've ever had
Leferd Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 Ha! Now you've done it. Attacking my geek sensibilities now huh?! Ok pal, name me some uberkewl crpg's where food directly effects a character's fighting skills. And I'll counter with just how 'food' is totally unnecessary and having to constantly feed yourself is pure tedium. "Things are funny...are comedic, because they mix the real with the absurd." - Buzz Aldrin."P-O-T-A-T-O-E" - Dan Quayle
Powerslave Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 You had to eat in the Quest For Glory series but these are actually adventure/RPGs. You also had to eat in "Betrayal In Antara" but that isn't an uber-kewl cRPG so I guess you have a point
Darth Ravok Posted August 12, 2004 Author Posted August 12, 2004 okay i got one for ya ultima online also final fantasy x1 . food in FFXI made it so you can hit harder
Archmonarch Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 Those are mmorpgs. They dont count. And I find it kind of funny I find it kind of sad The dreams in which I'm dying Are the best I've ever had
Darth Ravok Posted August 12, 2004 Author Posted August 12, 2004 ultima online made you get more accuracy.. If you didnt eat ur spells would fail and you would miss your target.. A LOT!
Guest Michael Chu Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 KotOR2 will not require you to eat to keep up your peak fighting, talking and other heroic-type abilities. That's not to say Star Wars doesn't have some great food moments... blue milk, Yoda eating Luke's rations, Chewbacca going after the big thing of meat on Endor...
Leferd Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 Ultima Online is the true epitome of tedium. "Things are funny...are comedic, because they mix the real with the absurd." - Buzz Aldrin."P-O-T-A-T-O-E" - Dan Quayle
Darth Ravok Posted August 12, 2004 Author Posted August 12, 2004 thats a load of crap dude..... rpg, mmorpg i proved you wrong so booya
Leferd Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 "That's not to say Star Wars doesn't have some great food moments... blue milk, Yoda eating Luke's rations, Chewbacca going after the big thing of meat on Endor..." Don't forget Aunt Beru's mad cooking skillz. "Things are funny...are comedic, because they mix the real with the absurd." - Buzz Aldrin."P-O-T-A-T-O-E" - Dan Quayle
Powerslave Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 Speaking of food and peoples' needs in SW, another thing pops into mind. There are completely NO latrines/bathrooms/whatever-slang-you-want-to-use in the SW films/books. Makes you wonder whether people in the SW universe have that urge to heed the nature's call at all...
Leferd Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 thats a load of crap dude..... rpg, mmorpg i proved you wrong so booya <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Puhleaze. Notice my "uberkewl crpg" clause? Go back to yo mama little boy. All kidding aside...if you really want combat bonuses there are those stimulants that Canderous can hook you up with. Why eat? "Things are funny...are comedic, because they mix the real with the absurd." - Buzz Aldrin."P-O-T-A-T-O-E" - Dan Quayle
Darth Ravok Posted August 12, 2004 Author Posted August 12, 2004 yes add bathrooms also.. crossing ur legs in battle from having to go would affect ur fighting style also
Darth Ravok Posted August 12, 2004 Author Posted August 12, 2004 stimulants are good yes but im also talking about making u worse if you dont eat
Leferd Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 Seriously. Have you thought this through? Eating to constantly offset your hero's super-metabolism is not fun. It is tedious. There is no good reason why it should be included. Eating and bathroom breaks are best left to the imagination. Just assume that they do all those mundane biological functions when we're not looking. Everytime the phone rings and you pause the game, just assume that that is their cue to go to the head. "Things are funny...are comedic, because they mix the real with the absurd." - Buzz Aldrin."P-O-T-A-T-O-E" - Dan Quayle
Powerslave Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 P.S. (to Darth Ravok): dude, you've just joined and you have replied to more than 3 pages full of threads of the same forum! Relax a bit and think of more constructive activities to pass time.
Darth Ravok Posted August 12, 2004 Author Posted August 12, 2004 1. I was kidding about the bathroom thing 2. I honestly like food in games it gives you something to worry about, I like the smallest parts of games
Darth Ravok Posted August 12, 2004 Author Posted August 12, 2004 whats wrong with posting... nothing... whats wrong with posting excessivly... nothing
Sirus Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 What? No food? The game will completley suck and not feel like Star Wars. Star Wars wouldn't be what it is today without the infamous 'Yoda Food Scene.'
Leferd Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 whats wrong with posting... nothing... whats wrong with posting excessivly... nothing <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Click here. See: Spam Actually, you're not that bad. Your enthusiasm is admirable, but message board junkies will respect your posts more if you put a little more effort into thought. AND I still say food is a bad idea. Teeeeeeedious. "Things are funny...are comedic, because they mix the real with the absurd." - Buzz Aldrin."P-O-T-A-T-O-E" - Dan Quayle
Darth Ravok Posted August 12, 2004 Author Posted August 12, 2004 well seeing as how i dont fit into any of those categories im OK... however, YOU DO, you keep saying how food is tedious over and over we get it YOU DONT LIKE IT so you cant really talk
