it is not a kotor name, but it is too funny not to share this: in italian, 'Palpatine' just means 'grabbing' with sexual significance, as in 'grabbing a girl's bottom (or breast)'.

errr....so Niklos means, in German, without-a-Nik...so that means...anyway.....

 

I like the Palpatine. Perhaps a reference to how he 'held' the galaxy?
