It's public service announcement to convince youths not to share software. The end is bizarre as it goes from goofy to serious with a man who's in prison for using stolen bank account information to create ebay and paypal accounts in order to sell pirated software.

So, how effective do you think this will be in detouring children from copying CDs?

About as effective as

Whats a floppy.

An archaic form of digital storage which involved encoding bits magnetically on a portable spinning disk. The most common size was 1.44 megabytes.

You ruined his bad joke, congrats!

Seriously, who still burns CDs/DVDs? Thumbdrive/external HDD or bust!

My thoughts exactly. A 2.5" pocket HDD can hold over 450 movies or 900 TV episodes. Why would you use a CD/DVD Disc?

Not to mention the discs cost money, take up room and it take a while to burn them.

Is this the one that features a little cameo of the original AOL Neverwinter Nights? Think that's how I bumped into it the first time.

There are none that are right, only strong of opinion. There are none that are wrong, only ignorant of facts

It's in the original one that Krezack posted.

Actually, you can buy cheap 1 terabyte 2.5 inchers these days, so make that 1500 movies.

I can never work out if the industry is more worried about people copying for free by sharing, or selling the stuff. They seem desperately keen to push the organised crime angle, but I've yet to be convinced on that score.

tarna's dead; processing... complete. Disappointed by Universe. RIP Hades/Sand/etc. Here's hoping your next alt has a harp.

I just had another weird thought. If a kindly magician started making copies of things like BMWs then would he be arrested, if he didn't charge anything for it?

You're premise is too weird to consider.

Change it to replicator and it might go somewhere.

I suspect it will not be effective, if only because they concentrate on those selling pirated materials. -_-
