They'd have to write and voice entirely new dialogue if they did that, since black people are treated differently than white people." It was acceptable. I mean, maybe using "white" as the assumed default and anything else just being a bonus isn't the best race-relations stuff, but it's not that bad. A plurality of the target audience is white males and all that.

I resent your implicit use of a white-black dichotomy, lord of flies. It's exactly that kind of inside-the-box thinking that reinforces negative race-relations. When you've just got a white male you can justify it by saying you can only have one character, but what happens when we have a black protagonist, huh? Where's the yellow? Or those weird ones like Greeks?

"Black people are treated differently than white people" isn't necessarily something that would need to be implemented in a game. Perhaps a comment here and there, if anything. I'm assuming they simply wanted MT to be white. A writing thing.

 

btw, didn't they ban you after the "death to Israel" debacle?

What? I haven't seen any official article or thread mentioning lack of ethnicity selections.

 

Even if it is true, I agree with the above post; it would only create a greater "need" for a mandatory mulit-ethnic option, ultimately ultra-PC'ing games, and eventually, curb overall creativity.

and to answer tho OP's question, i don't think theres an option at the start 'black or white?', but im pretty sure you can change the skin tone of MT a bit. I think they said that in the safehouse walkthrough.

I think skin tone refers to how tanned Mike is, not his race.
