Their "beginner guides" aren't very helpful....

It seems like a city sim, and then after 7 days grace period a PvP element opens up.

 

I've just been learning the game by trying to do the quests provided for you.

Since I've been running Ubuntu on a really crappy computer for the past 3 months, I can't use WINE (comp too slow), and there's no CD drive to install an XP partition. As such I've built up an array of fun Flash games:

does anyone else find that civony runs like crap? Half the time I can't log in because it doesn't do anything when I click login, sometimes the map is completely unresponsive, info boxes show the wrong info, etc.

Welcome to Flash. I doubt it's Civony's fault, except that it makes liberal use of Flash (and perhaps some poor coding).

 

Solution: get a better computer.
