ryan@seganerds Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Just a heads up about both Aliens games and Alpha Protocol. Alpha Protocol will get big advertisment push because Sega really want it to sell well, (just how big is yet to be seen) the game testers seem to really be enjoying playing Alpah Protocol though. The Aliens the RPG is a long way off still, I've heard Sega will be holding an 'Aliens Event' soon-ish. Next month maybe? Since we are on the subject, Aliens: Colonial Marines may be pushed back again, I think it'll be a very good game though. Finally, just a note that the Sega of America guys have nothing but good things to say about the Obsidian guys and they get on really well from what I've heard. That is all! Morgoth Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Cool. Looking forward to that advetisment push, whenever that will be. Rain makes everything better.
Ronan_Berthelot Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 I hope we will see those games very soon but it seems to be that Aliens RPG will be released next year. To Actually, I don't trust Gearbox (the makers of Brothers in Arms) for the next Aliens Colonial Marines... @+++
Morgoth Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 I think there's not really that much to expect from a FPS in the first place. I suppose Colonial Marines will be a tasty "snack", but the RPG will be a delicious meal. And I agree about the release: Probably Q1 2010 to avoid the busy Hollydays business. Rain makes everything better.
mkreku Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 ...the game testers seem to really be enjoying playing Alpah Protocol though. I really like the sound of this. Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
Humodour Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Yeah, just from what I hear on the forums from the devs, Sega sound like a great publisher.

It better have a big push. Because new game IPs like Valkyrie Chronicles are left alone in the dust due to poor marketing I presume.
Pushtrak Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 It will need a big push. It was only by chance of seeing someone at another forum mention this in games they were looking forward to that I know of it.
Pop Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 I too am excited to get my hands on this "Alpah Protocol". I hope it will show as much promise as AP does. Join me, and we shall make Production Beards a reality!
Cl_Flushentityhero Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 I for one will hold out until the insurgent expansion pack "Allah Protocol."
Llyranor Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Alpha Protocol is virtually unheard of. I've sold a good number of people on the game who had no idea 1) MCA and crew were making this game, or 2) this was a WRPG with shooter mechanics; for which the fanbase has grown somewhat in the past 2 yrs with ME and FO3. (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)
Moatilliatta Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 haven't had much of a marketing push either. I'm positive that people will start caring once Sega put their marketing engine into overdrive.
Sargoth Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Mr. Avellone is marketing this game 24/7... EVERY SECOND.
Moatilliatta Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 The San Francisco Chronicle has named Alpha Protocol one of its 9 games to look for in 2009. Apparently some people know about it. This is surprising to me since newspaper games writers, in my experience usually have pretty rubbish taste.

Morgoth Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 When do we get some AP news? When will the SEGA press event be? Will Obsidian make a statement about the rumored delay please? I know the answer already. "Soon" Rain makes everything better.
Pop Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 According to the official Obsidz twitter, they hosted press and filmed another dev diary last week. So new stuff should be forthcoming. Join me, and we shall make Production Beards a reality!
Slowtrain Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 I'm buying three copies if its good. If it's bad I'm buying two*. Go go Alpha Protocol. *If its really bad I may just buy one. Notice how I can belittle your beliefs without calling you names. It's a useful skill to have particularly where you aren't allowed to call people names. It's a mistake to get too drawn in/worked up. I mean it's not life or death, it's just two guys posting their thoughts on a message board. If it were personal or face to face all the usual restraints would be in place, and we would never have reached this place in the first place. Try to remember that.
Morgoth Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 If it is coming out at all. Rain makes everything better.
Matthew Rorie Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 If it is coming out at all. Oh, it be coming out. Matthew Rorie
Cl_Flushentityhero Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 If it is coming out at all. Oh, it be coming out. I wish we could say the same with certainty about Splinter Cell: Conviction. Provided it isn't vaporware, I think the concept will be much less novel by the time it releases.
Pop Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Dear Obsidz Next week it will have been a full month since AP last got some press coverage (if the front page is any indication) Ur doin it wrong For gods sake hurry it up already Regards the internet Join me, and we shall make Production Beards a reality!
Zoma Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Yeah this is just bad. It needs some sort of viral marketing like House of the Dead: Overkill to gather attention and interests. Come on, we need info. to keep the viagra interests erected on!
Morgoth Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Perhaps Alpha Protocol has been put on hold too and nobody told us! Cynic, I know... Rain makes everything better.
WILL THE ALMIGHTY Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 LALALALALALALALA I CANT HEAR YOU "Alright, I've been thinking. When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade - make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons, what am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager. Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons. Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons. I'm going to to get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!"
