Matthew Rorie Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Should be hitting newstands today, I think... Matthew Rorie
Cl_Flushentityhero Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Sweetness. I think I'll hold out for scans, though.
mkreku Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 I have to rely on scans. I don't think I've ever seen that magazine in Sweden. Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
WILL THE ALMIGHTY Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 People still buy gaming magazines? "Alright, I've been thinking. When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade - make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons, what am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager. Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons. Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons. I'm going to to get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!"
Morgoth Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Yeah, who gives a rats ass about print mags these days? What a waste of paper.... And WHEN do WE FORUMITES get REAL NEWS goddammit? Rain makes everything better.
Cycloneman Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Yeah, who gives a rats ass about print mags these days? What a waste of paper.... And WHEN do WE FORUMITES get REAL NEWS goddammit? When funcroc brings it to us? I don't post if I don't have anything to say, which I guess makes me better than the rest of your so-called "community."
Morgoth Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Oh yeah? Didn't know funroc is now SEGAs PR dude. Welcome to the forums, funroc! When do we get REAL news, funroc? Rain makes everything better.
Pop Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Well, that was... short. And I think we got a new screenie or two. Very small, though. Join me, and we shall make Production Beards a reality!
funcroc Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 (edited) http://forum.teamxbox.com/showthread.php?t=600731 Holiday OPM --- Alpha Protocol, "Best RPG of '09 - see it here first!" Alpha Protocol Platform: PS3 Available: Spring 2009 Genre: Action RPG Pubisher: Sega Developer: Obsidian Entertainment Guns Gadgets Espionage The preview isn't very long and most of it is about dialogue branching and making choices and how they will affect your game in the short and long run (nice example provided). I can't really pull a quote from it cause you need to read the whole paragraphs to really understand it. It sounds like quite an ambitious game from a story/conversation stance point. There is some gameplay info; * traditional class system, allowing you to apply your Advancement Points to whichever of the 10 categories you choose * as you level up various skills, you'll be awarded with perks, both in the form of passive buffs and special abilities * Since you can't level grind, there is a set amount of AP, and you can't replay missions just to level up, you'll have to make tough choices (could make well rounded, but underpowered agent or you could excel in certain areas You start the game off by choosing one of three archetypes; * Field Agents - which sounds like Sam Fisher/Solid Snake type of play..."placing initial focus on the catagories like Pistol, Infiltration, and Stealth" * Soldier - sounds to me like Soldier class from Mass Effect * Tech Specialist - set up traps and use more gadgets. Cl_Flushentityhero Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Hmm, thanks for the link. Doesn't actually sound like we missed much in the way of info . . . or there's the possibility that whoever was trying to summarize failed.
WILL THE ALMIGHTY Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 For once, funcroc is late. Something in the world has just gone horribly, horribly wrong. Prepare for the apocalypse. "Alright, I've been thinking. When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade - make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons, what am I supposed to do with these? Wrath of Dagon Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 Seems like stealth and setting up traps / hacking should go together, I wonder how the division of skills is going to work. "Moral indignation is a standard strategy for endowing the idiot with dignity." Marshall McLuhan

Morgoth Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Thorton looks hawt, as always. "Best RPG of 2009". Oh yeah, and what about Aliens or Dragon Age? Rain makes everything better.
pcrk2 Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 I think they know what they're doing saying that but still it sounds exaggerated. We just got one dev diary and a couple of previews... too soon to make that kind of statement. But if they are right... then I am so happy. Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken. The Force shall free me.
Tigranes Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 No, all that stuff on the front page's a load of crap. As usual. (Ha, Good fun, etc.) We'll see if they have any new info though. Let's Play: Icewind Dale Ironman (Complete) Let's Play: Icewind Dale II Ironman (Complete) Let's Play: Divinity II (Complete) Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy Ironman - BG1 (Complete) Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy Ironman - BG2 (In Progress)
Pop Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 It came out a few weeks ago, and it doesn't. Join me, and we shall make Production Beards a reality!
pcrk2 Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 In that cover I get the feeling that Mike is Bill Buchanan from 24... his facial expressions are close to Bill's. Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken. The Force shall free me.
Cl_Flushentityhero Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Heh, I thought he had more of a Dominic Purcell look.
mkreku Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 No, he reminds me of James Thompson: Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
Cl_Flushentityhero Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 I can see a physical resemblance, but I hope Thornton bears as few similarities to the man immortalized by this video as possible:
mkreku Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Yeah, OK, not his proudest moment that :D But to his defence, he went up against Alexander Emelianenko, who most rank among the top five heavyweights in the world. Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
