I have to rely on scans. I don't think I've ever seen that magazine in Sweden.

People still buy gaming magazines?

"Alright, I've been thinking. When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade - make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons, what am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager. Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons. Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons. I'm going to to get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!"

Yeah, who gives a rats ass about print mags these days? What a waste of paper....

And WHEN do WE FORUMITES get REAL NEWS goddammit?

When funcroc brings it to us?

I don't post if I don't have anything to say, which I guess makes me better than the rest of your so-called "community." 8)

Holiday OPM --- Alpha Protocol, "Best RPG of '09 - see it here first!"

Alpha Protocol

Platform: PS3

Available: Spring 2009

Genre: Action RPG

Pubisher: Sega

Developer: Obsidian Entertainment

Guns Gadgets Espionage

The preview isn't very long and most of it is about dialogue branching and making choices and how they will affect your game in the short and long run (nice example provided). I can't really pull a quote from it cause you need to read the whole paragraphs to really understand it. It sounds like quite an ambitious game from a story/conversation stance point.

There is some gameplay info;

* traditional class system, allowing you to apply your Advancement Points to whichever of the 10 categories you choose

* as you level up various skills, you'll be awarded with perks, both in the form of passive buffs and special abilities

* Since you can't level grind, there is a set amount of AP, and you can't replay missions just to level up, you'll have to make tough choices (could make well rounded, but underpowered agent or you could excel in certain areas

You start the game off by choosing one of three archetypes;

* Field Agents - which sounds like Sam Fisher/Solid Snake type of play..."placing initial focus on the catagories like Pistol, Infiltration, and Stealth"

* Soldier - sounds to me like Soldier class from Mass Effect

* Tech Specialist - set up traps and use more gadgets.

For once, funcroc is late.

Something in the world has just gone horribly, horribly wrong.

Prepare for the apocalypse.

Seems like stealth and setting up traps / hacking should go together, I wonder how the division of skills is going to work.

I think they know what they're doing saying that but still it sounds exaggerated. We just got one dev diary and a couple of previews... too soon to make that kind of statement.

But if they are right... then I am so happy.

Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken. The Force shall free me.

In that cover I get the feeling that Mike is Bill Buchanan from 24... his facial expressions are close to Bill's.

No, he reminds me of James Thompson:

Yeah, OK, not his proudest moment that :D

But to his defence, he went up against Alexander Emelianenko, who most rank among the top five heavyweights in the world.
