He was 75. The two-time Oscar nominee died of complications from multiple myeloma, a cancer of the blood cells, at the Myeloma Institute for Research and Therapy at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. Hospital spokesperson Leslie Taylor said the actor had been treated there for the disease at different times over the past two years. Advertisement New Jersey-born Scheider earned his first Oscar nomination (Best Supporting Actor) in 1971 for 'The French Connection'. Eight years later he was nominated for the Best Actor Oscar for his performance in 'All That Jazz'. Among his other credits were 'Klute', 'Marathon Man', 'Still of the Night' and the TV adventure series 'SeaQuest DSV "Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger." - Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials "I have also been slowly coming to the realisation that knowledge and happiness are not necessarily coincident, and quite often mutually exclusive" - meta

And I think he also angered big fishes, but I can't point out right now what film that exactly was.... Rain makes everything better.

Walsingham
I actually feel sorry for Britney. I mean, no more than I would for anyone else, but no less. I think children should be prevented from becoming popstars/filmstars, with the notable exception of Natalie Portman. "It wasn't lies.
