Rosbjerg Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 I didn't think I would have the time to bring an update here.. But luckily, being stuck in southern India proved me wrong. Me and my friend have now travelled through this populated country for 16 days - and it feels like several months. There's always things happening, people to meet and talk to and things to see. India is an interesting place - a mix between Europe and Asia, but really it's very own. And according to the Indians, like if you ask Americans about USA, India is the only important place in the world. So far, in our travels, we've seen white beaches, extreme wealth and poverty - beautiful jungles/rainforests, arid hills and landscapes, sprawling urban areas and remote mountain towns, old Hindi temples, Muslim Mosques and 500 year old Portouguise Churches. Now we are in a place called Kannur, the capital of Kerala (a southern state). We are staying here for 3 days to experience something called Theyuam dances (12 hours nonestop dancing) - a unique thing to this part of the country, which takes place inside the jungle. Moving on from here we are going to the southern tip of India and afterwards to Pondicherry, an old French colony. There's a lot to tell, but I won't bore you - I just wanted to tell you guys that I'm fine and having a blast. I've uploaded a few pictures. The first is me in Old Goa - an old Portouguise colony with over 15 big churches close together. The second is inside one of the churches. Third is an overgrown window in Panjim, Goa. The building was almost destroyed by plants. Fourth is from Palolem, Goa. A very Idyllical beach area - but full of tourists and backpackers. Last picture is from Mumbai (Bombay), taken from inside a Rickshaw in morning traffic. Fortune favors the bald.
Pidesco Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 Great stuff! Good to know you are enjoying yourself, you lucky bastard. Oh, and it's Portuguese not "Portouguise" you Danish nutter. Musopticon? Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 Good to hear you're alive and kicking, Ros. I really like the second pic. I was gonna ask, how's the language? Are you coping with English in there? kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. I had to fight against blood thirsty wolves and rabid penguins to get my food. Guest The Architect Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 Lucky bastard indeed. Those pictures are pretty cool. I like the beach one in particular. 12 hours of some non stop Indian tribal dancing or whatever sounds awesome... and tiring. I hope the fun continues for you, Rosbjerk, I mean Rosbjerg.

LadyCrimson Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Nice to hear from you, Ros! Glad you're having fun, and you know I always love pictures ... Non-stop dancing for 12 hours?? On the one hand, sounds like blast - on the other hand, sounds very ... tiring. Haha. :D Take care. “Things are as they are. samm Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 Baby baby baby you're like ecstacy, baby baby baby that's because I am on it... is what comes to my mind when thinking about 12hrs of non stop dancing. Just don't die... Citizen of a country with a racist, hypocritical majority
Dark_Raven Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 Stopping by Kolkata? If so pay a visit to Dakshineswar Kali Temple. I want some neat pictures. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
