Gfted1 Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 What sort of simulations if you don't mind me asking, Taks? I think I remember him saying he was running MATLAB. "I'm your biggest fan, Ill follow you until you love me, Papa"
Bokishi Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 Man, I wish I could browse the internet with that rig. You could probably browse the internet and listen to music at the same time with that rig. Don't be ridiculous. You'll need at least two more cores. You're gonna need 8 cores if you want to check email Current 3DMark
Sand Posted July 19, 2007 Author Posted July 19, 2007 As the CPU Fan whirls these are the days of my computer... The techs tell me the board didn't have grounding issues. It was DEAD. Another freaking dead board. GRRRRRRRRR! Okay, so I am going through EVGA directly this time and it seems that they are going to send a new board within 1 to 2 business days overnight. YAY! So I should have a new one by Monday. Grr.... Nick_i_am Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 Dear lord, MATLAB, that brings back some horrible memories. (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)
Bokishi Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 A lot of people say the 680i is trash, I was fortunate to not have any problems with it aside from an odd issue when the reboot stalls after an OS crash, but that is solved by unplugging and plugging back in the psu. But it's the only board that supports Core 2 + SLI @ full 16x bandwidth for both cards Current 3DMark
Sand Posted July 19, 2007 Author Posted July 19, 2007 Well, I am hoping that getting the board directly from the manufacturer will end my problems. Before it died the second time it seem to work great with all my other stuff. I hear rumors intels new X chipset will come out later this year will support SLI. Always outnumbered, never out gunned! Unreal Tournament 2004 Handle:Enlight_2.0 Myspace Website! My rig
Sand Posted July 20, 2007 Author Posted July 20, 2007 Well, the board that I have has a fan dedicated to the Northbridge. WITHTEETH Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 Well, the board that I have has a fan dedicated to the Northbridge. That will come in handy. I thought that was only for water cooling actually, does it help in a air cooled enviroment with the other fans? I'm about to flash my BIOS and i found something new out about my MOBO. Commando BIOS version 14041. Enhance memory compatibility under FSB1333 mode Yay it now supports FSB1333!!!! It will support future CPUs now!!! :sorcerer: Always outnumbered, never out gunned! Sand Posted July 20, 2007 Author Posted July 20, 2007 (edited) That will come in handy. I thought that was only for water cooling actually, does it help in a air cooled enviroment with the other fans? Don't know yet. Haven't gotten a sustainable working board to find out. Second RMA, but this time EVGA direct. Gfted1 Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 Werent they just going to replace it? "I'm your biggest fan, Ill follow you until you love me, Papa"
Sand Posted July 24, 2007 Author Posted July 24, 2007 Werent they just going to replace it? EVGA is replacing the board but the Best Buy techs who I took it to in order to install the board and fix the grounding issue gave me my money back when they failed to get it working. Sand Posted July 24, 2007 Author Posted July 24, 2007 I don't go to a merchant unless I can get my money back from them if they failed to meet my expectations. So far, every shop I have been to in Ames, Iowa I have been able to get my money back, from game stores like Gamestop to electronic department stores like Best Buy.
