I like your ideas about using a bunch of different environments. It would be nice if the story fits it, since they may be set on their plan now in that regard.

No Predators has been confirmed as it doesn't cover that license.

Where did you get the original artwork?

You mean you drew some of the Aliens or photoshopped it ?

It's a 30 % of 3d renders and 70 % of photoshop. All drawn using mouse :)

No reference used ( except for the Space Jockey ).

Do you have textless versions?

Beautiful pictures. :)

I go for forest-like environments, mostly in the dark. How would the native wildlife react to the presence of an Alien? How might you use that tactically? What are the consequences of using flame-throwers? Could you use a forest fire to influence the movement of an Alien?

I'd really like to see the snow covered planet. They have that nice desolate beauty which should be a contradiction in terms.

I hope every game now has tons of vents just to agitate Gorgon.

"Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."

I second that! I say, we're walking through the forest and all the sudden the PC stumbles over something. It turns out it a large air vent, and he wants to lead the party inside. Only the vent is covered by a locked hatch.

What would be cool is finding a series of small frozen shafts in the winter world. That would be cool. A hive of interconnected shafts, each leading to a returning frost dart.

Really, though, it would be great to have some open areas and a little freedom, even though the setting pretty much requires at least a few shafts and some tight places. You Freudians can take what you want from the previous statement.

I wonder if the xenomorphs can camouflage themselves, so that they would be a mottled grey or even white in an arctic setting?

Xenomorphs would only camouflage through natural selection, and since that can only occur at the level of whole hives this would be unlikely. Unless they cross-bred with chameleons and that's unlikely.

The jungle picture creeps me out. As if jungles and forests weren't already full of bloody dangerous critters.

The ice setting might be good if the cold somehow hampered the wee devils. But given they can cheerfully operate in space that might not apply. In fact the worst environment for them would probably be sand.

tarna's dead; processing... complete. Disappointed by Universe. RIP Hades/Sand/etc. Here's hoping your next alt has a harp.

They'd probably build tunnels under the ground in sand. Or at least set up ambushes by burying themselves individually.

Hey Rogue.

Nice to see more of your work over here on Obsidians forums. I really like the Ice alien pic.

Those pictures are amazing! Nice work!

Crustacean are among the many animals that have some limited camouflage. (Quiet, Vegas-boy, I don't care if you want grues instead of xenomorphs.)

There are two ways in which animals produce different colors.
  • Biochromes, which are microscopic, natural pigments in an animal's body, produce colors chemically. Their chemical makeup is such that they absorb some colors of light and reflect others. The apparent color of a pigment is a combination of all the visible wavelengths of light that are reflected by that pigment.
  • Animals may also produce colors via microscopic physical structures. Essentially, these structures act like prisms, refracting and scattering visible light so that a certain combination of colors are reflected. Polar bears, for example, actually have black skin but appear white because they have translucent hairs. When light shines on the hairs, each hair bends it a little bit. This bounces the light around so that some of it makes it to the surface of the skin and the rest of it is deflected back out, producing white coloration. In some animals, the two types of coloration are combined. For example, reptiles, amphibians and fish with green coloration typically have a layer of skin with yellow pigment and a layer of skin that scatters light to reflect a blue color. Combined, these layers of skin produce green. To learn more about coloration and light, check out How Light Works.
