I think Aliens use some kind of sonar or other sound based method of perception... the big **** heads facilitate this ability.

For some reason I'm remembering all this arcana from the Ridley Scott commentary track. Damn you all for making me remember this crap!

 

He commented on the creature's lack of eyes, and said that this was an intentional thing, to highlight the alien's reliance on "pure instinct" to survive. Ash says something to this effect in the movie.

That's quite a Lucasism from Scott.

I thought Lucasism indicated a unnecessary desire to explain mysteries as opposed to leaving them up to the user's imagination?

I ma not familiar with Unreal 3, but I am familiar with Source and it rules.

Source is nice and all but it doesn't really have the wow factor that much anymore. I haven't played an Unreal 3 game yet but the screens certainly have me salivating.

Unreal 3 still has the flaw I've seen it every other engine but source. People look plastic. Granted, it's better than Doom 3 and Unreal Warfare, but it's noticeable.

The unreal 3 engine makes for teh prettier result... simple really.

No predaliens please. I don't want that game ending up like Star Wars. Blue skinned Zombie-Marines are okay though.

What MCA has to say about Research & Aliens.

Their deal doesn't include the Predator license, nor the AvP license, so there wouldn't be Predaliens, anyway.

I could live with the facehugger/chestburster/drone/runner/praetorian/queen/setup with variations.

Needs alien hookers, imo.
