JE as lead? I'm guessing Action RPG, yes? He's been arguing for good action gameplay in RPGs. I totally support that.

Don't freaking make me buy a PS3, or I hunt you down.

Well, which nextgen consoles those will be seems to still be undisclosed. But, erm, you can only guess so much.

You're talking about the Sega forum, right?

If so, you are incontrovertibly wrong.

Moronic opinions, no. Moronic behavior is filtered out pretty well, though.

Our mods do a good job filtering out the morons here too, though!

Right, mods?

Am I right?

Guys?

No, they are not that good. I'm a moron.

I think the mods just filter out the good respectable people..

Fair enough. I find it doesn't last too long. Though maybe I just venture towards FYAD or the Gas Chamber too much.

In this post I made an idiot out of myself and was corrected below. This post has been edited to remove evidence of my inability to read. Please skip this post. Seriously. It never happened. :D

Don't make them retract the PC announcement just because of you.

PUHLEEEZE! Bring it to PC as well! Dammit! I'm sick of seeing great franchises that I grew up watching get games that go to a crowd that doesn't appreciate it as much as the PC crowd. I mean, what the hell was up with creating an AvP game for consoles, and making it a fricken' RTS game?? "Let's take EVERYTHING that a PC gamer would LOVE and give it to console gamers!" ARRRG!

I really hope this makes it to PC one way or another because nothing is going to convince me to sell/shell out for a console system. I paid big bucks to buy the parts and put my own PC together, and yet I feel like, as a PC gamer, I'm becoming more and more of a second class citizen in 'the gaming world'.  :'(

Alien RPG??  (w00t)  On a CONSOLE?!?  :)

Does anyone ever read the thread before they post in it."

Reading is for Loosers! :) Seriously though, oops. :D

I, uh, actually read the announcement on a different site that mentioned doodly-squat about a PC release... then rushed over here to gripe about it. :aiee:"

Either way though... I'm corrected... and I'm happy... so HAH! :joy: Alien RPG on the PC!!! Ya hoo!!! (w00t)

Guess I'm getting a bit too used to announcements like "ONLY ON X-BOX. PS. screw you PC users."

Hey, I'm allowed one or two stupid posts now and then between my other brilliant posts.

So, when do we get a Project Georgia section on the forums?

A place where we can suggest crpg essentials like crates, sewers and ritual virgin sacrifice. If not in an Aliens crpg, I wouldn't know where

Now if I was one of those bitter old-timers this is where I would say "Now if only we could get some of those brilliant posts." But I'm not mean and bitter so I won't. :)

Gorth: Crates, Sewers and ritual virgin sacrifice? Somehow I don't see the ritual virgin sacrifice working against the Aliens. "Here! Take her instead of me!" *Alien eats them both* :aiee:)

Perhaps a cult of Xenos worshippers (you'll find deranged people all over the galaxy) who hunts virgins and sacrifice them to the alien queen in return for being left alone?

The original Alien vs. Predator was one of the scariest games I ever played, thanks mainly due to random alien spawns. Not only did they pop up in different places, but they were absolutly tenacious in hunting you down. No where was safe, they'd climb on ceilings, through vents, use any means to get to you. Those damn face huggers scared the hell out of me too. If they managed to latch on to you they would let out this ear-piercing screech straight out of the first movie when one latched on to Kane.

The sequel by Monolith was a bit disapointing to me. Every alien was always in the same spot so 'replayable scares' and tension were virtually non-existent. The story, of course, was a massive improvement over the first game.

I really hope an RPG can capture some of the tension of the movies and the first AvP game. I think a FPS vantage is the best option for capturing close quarters tension. Other third person horror games, such as Resident Evil just haven't scared me as much as games that put you right down in the mix like Doom 3 and AvP.

You are never immune to nasty comments, no matter how many smilies you use. :)

I just hope they take a page out of some of the Looking Glass games. Just because there is no big scary monster anywhere in sight doesn't mean that they player can't be totally freaked out by the environment. ^_^

Agreed, I loved sections where you could hear hissing in the vents. Was some nasty alien waiting to pounce out, or is it just a gas leak? The movies did a great job of showing images of some slimy contraption a wall or something. You'd think it was a pipe or something then suddenly, OMG Its an alien head! Or have a broken that looked like an alien's bony tail fall down and spray gas into someone's face.

I do hope that the game features some intense chase scenes involving welding doors shut to prevent the hoardes of aliens. Some of the most tense moments were just before the aliens attacked and the clicking of the motion sensor got louder and louder.

My most tense chase scene has to be from Hybrid Heaven for the N64. Gigantic Unbeatable Enemy that is faster than you chases you around an entire level. You escape it by going into small areas that it doesn't fit. I remember standing at the end of a tunnel that opened into a large empty space trying to build up the courage to step out. I knew that the moment I did I would get a cutscene where the GUE would appear and start chasing me down again.

Granted part of the reason for the tense feeling I had was because the camera sucked so much that half the time you had no idea where you were going and so couldn't find the stupid little holes in the wall that you had to climb into. The worst one was a crawlspace that you had to have enough of a lead on the GUE so that you could get down on your stomach and into the vent before it came up on you and started mauling you.
