Darth Drabek Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 In fairness, Bush is killing him in total yards. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not really, I just checked. Bushhas 405 rushing and 687 receiving for about 1,100. Jones-Drew has 666 rushing and 332 receiving for about 1,000. MJD is hustling for more than six yards per carry, too! Bush is at about three yards per carry and even his yard per reception average is less than Drew's. baby, take off your beret everyone's a critic and most people are DJs
Volourn Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 (edited) I prefer Bush; but the numbers don't lie. However, fi we are disucsisng R0TY, we cna't rule out a few of the 1st year QBs. As for the Marino comment, that got old ten years ago. "OMG! marino didn't win a super bowl! L0L0L0L0LLIPOP" Talk about a joke that was dead and buried eons ago.  Edited December 14, 2006 by Volourn DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250.

Enoch Posted December 14, 2006 Author Posted December 14, 2006 The most deserving of the OROY award are Marcus McNeill (starting OLT for SD) and Nick Mangold (starting C for NYJ). But linemen never win. Thus, the race is between Colston, V. Young, Addai, MJD, and maybe Devin Hester (if returns count as offense). Bush has had a couple of great Sportcenter plays, but he's also had way too many runs for -2 yards. Given that none of the rookie pass-rushers have done much, DeMeco Ryans looks like a lock for DROY. Haloti Ngata (a name clearly meant to be sung to the tune of Hakuna Matata) has an outside chance.
Darth Drabek Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 I would go with Colston, even though his injury is hurting his chances for the award, as the others (especially Young, despite his "meh" statline) have really come on strong lately. baby, take off your beret everyone's a critic and most people are DJs
kumquatq3 Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 I know it seems otherwise, but I'm not that big on Bush. However, when he breaks that record for receptions in a season for a rookie, he will be a serious contender. I mean, I think Hester is up there too, and his six TDs don't hold up to alot of these guys. But records are records.
Darth Drabek Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Yeah, records make news and that buzz gives them a leg up in the award race. I don't know how many times I saw Hester's returns replayed this week. Hell, Young's stats are far from spectacular, but I think he has a chance just because he keeps leading the Titans to comeback victories. baby, take off your beret everyone's a critic and most people are DJs
Enoch Posted December 14, 2006 Author Posted December 14, 2006 More potentially bad news for Da Bears: Police raid Tank Johnson's house. Nothing confirmed yet, but the cops say they found some things that they were specified in the warrant. (Drugs? Guns? Whizzinators?)

I'd bet that any plea or trial will be pushed back until after the season is over.
Darth Drabek Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 How 'bout that Alex Smith! I didn't see the game, but apparently he threw for two and ran for one score in the fourth quarter to stop the Seahawks from clinching the division. baby, take off your beret everyone's a critic and most people are DJs

Darth Drabek Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 Mama Vick sure raised some classy boys. Now it's Marcus' turn to get in trouble. LINK The lawsuit states that the girl was a 15-year-old honor student at Christiansburg High School when she first had sex with Vick in January 2004 while he was a quarterback at Virginia Tech. "As a direct and proximate result of Marcus Vick's unlawful sexual intercourse with Jane Doe, the plaintiff suffered, and will continue to suffer, psychological trauma associated with the child sexual abuse perpetrated by defendant Marcus Vick," the lawsuit states. The lawsuit also says Vick wanted her to have sex with other men and contends that Vick offered her alcohol and marijuana several times. baby, take off your beret everyone's a critic and most people are DJs
Volourn Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 (edited) While what marcus did was definitely wrong; this case reeks, and this illustrates it: "The girl accuses Vick of fraud, saying he told he loved her, wanted her to have his child and that having a sexual relationship with someone her age was acceptable." Oh please. If this was 'fraud'; lots of people would be guilty of fraud. This is about money plain and simple. Darth Drabek Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 I agree; she wants to cash in. $6.3 million is probably a lot of money for a undrafted, third-string QB for the 'Phins. Poor Marcus. baby, take off your beret everyone's a critic and most people are DJs

Darth Drabek Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 Haha, that's right. "It's okay, baby. You can trust Ron Mexico." Seriously, what woman would believe your name was really Ron Mexico? I would have used Liam Luxembourg, myself. Or maybe Jerry Madagascar. Those are some sweet aliases. baby, take off your beret everyone's a critic and most people are DJs
Enoch Posted December 15, 2006 Author Posted December 15, 2006 He needed to do that under a assumed identity, like his brother Phil Canada, anyone? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He'd have better luck as Joe Montana, I think. (Hey, wait a minute... ) I prefer to just call him "New Mexico."

Terrible game for 3 quarters anyway, made all the more terrible by Coliinsworth and Gumbal. The stench is almost unbearable. The niners just exploded for 21 points in the 4th quarter. Darth Drabek Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 More football-related news (as I'm finding it very difficult to concentrate on honest work this Friday afternoon): Brady and Bridget are no more! NOW we know where that 78 yard, no-TD performance against the Dolphins came from last week! I thought this bit was funny: Moynahan, who's 36, has made no secret of her desire to start a family. Asked recently where she sees herself in five years, the actress replied, "Definitely marriage and kids." Brady, 29, was asked the same question on WEEI earlier this week and said, "Playing football." baby, take off your beret everyone's a critic and most people are DJs

kumquatq3 Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 (edited) Can't we focus on the positives? Bridgets single, Frank Dakota is a sweet alias, and the Bears control their own destiny. Also, considering Seattles next game is against San Diego, San Fran has a shot at taking this to the last week. They would need a loss by seattle against tampa, but if that were to occur, they would own tie breakers at that point. Furthermore, this is a HUGE week for the NFC wildcard and NFC east as the Eagles play the Giants and Atlanta plays the Cowboys. The Eagles last three games? Giants, Cowboys, and Falcons. That muddles the playoff mix. Edited December 16, 2006 by kumquatq3
