Kaftan Barlast
so realistic and brutal that you get that "Thats gotta hurt!!" feeling. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I noticed that too. My uneducated guess is that since it was filmed in Thailand, the hits were real. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The hits are real. I saw some behind the scenes footage where the actors would just scream in agony between takes after smacking their elbows into stuff. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeh, I figured it had to be atleast semi-contact(or what you call it)because you could see them really rolling with the blows. It obviously wasnt real, but the scene where the other guy gets his arms broken and the hero subsequently breaks the henchmans knee just made me cringe in utter horror. No. Now, explain to all of us here why you think The Insider is better than Heat. Just use some of your Comparative Analysis skills, Pidesco. Pidesco
The characters' dilemmas are better and deeper, Pacino is better in The Insider than in Heat, Russel Crowe gives the best performance of his life, it doesn't have Val Kilmer in it, and it's smarter. Edit: I think Heat is pretty good, by the way. Hurlshort
I agree with Pidesco. I liked Heat, but The Insider was powerful.
Baley
The first 30 minutes of Heat are, like, cinema's greatest achievement. On par with the Janine\Jesse Jane scene in Pirates, Skammen's ending and the opening shot of Aguirre, der Zorn Gottes. Kikujir

Dark Moth
I'm now watching a subtitled version of Tiger and Crane Fists. Some of you may better know it as the film Kung Pow took for some of its footage. Not the greatest martial arts film ever, but I enjoy watching Jimmy Wang Yu's stuff.
