GhostofAnakin Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 In a way you are saying that The Star Wars prequels are like the Scary Movie series, where only two or three good jokes can be found amid all the awfulness. Of course, despite those few good jokes the Scary Movies are still not worth watching. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I wouldn't have necessarily used that comparison, but I suppose yes, I am. IMO, the prequels had some good *moments*, but overall I felt the story was blah. x1Predator Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 RotJ reigns supreme as far as the overall movie.......always...... If money is the root of all evil.....why is the world not destroyed?
Xard Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 Ending IS cool even with ewoks, and space battle is clearly best of the saga... How can it be a no ob build. It has PROVEN effective. I dare you to show your builds and I will tear you apart in an arugment about how these builds will won them. - OverPowered Godzilla (OPG)
GhostofAnakin Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 ..but a whole lot of horrible, like Endor and Emperor's "plot". <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Slightly off topic, but about the events in RotJ, but why do Stormtroopers even wear that armor? Judging from the movies it doesn't protect them against blaster bolts, and the Ewoks seemed to be able to beat the snot out of them with rocks and wooden sticks. And I still laugh at that whole "An entire legion of my best men" line by the Emperor, when considering they got trounced by a bunch of teddy bears. hawk Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Well, for one thing, you can only truely understand ROTS if you have watched and understood all of the other movies. I found out that several friends and my mother didn't understand what ROTS was all about. What Sith and Jedi are and this Order 66. Two point I don't like in ROTS is that: A) Mace Windu was killed in a way it could only fit in a true horror movie, not in a SW film. It would have been better if Anakin would go for Windu's head, succeed and he would fall down in stead of this absolutely horrible dead. B) How is this gravity on Grievous's battleship working in space? If a ship "dives" in space, no one should notice because it is "space" without gravity right? Master Vandar lives!
Dark_Raven Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 We can play nice or I will deal with those who are bad accordingly. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
Purgatorio Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 B) How is this gravity on Grievous's battleship working in space? If a ship "dives" in space, no one should notice because it is "space" without gravity right? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> (w00t) Thank you! S.A.S.I.S.P.G.M.D.G.S.M.B.

If money is the root of all evil.....why is the world not destroyed?
Xard Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 And why there is sounds in space etc. Seriously, SW is totally unrealistic. Don't even try to explain its weirdness How can it be a no ob build. It has PROVEN effective. I dare you to show your builds and I will tear you apart in an arugment about how these builds will won them. - OverPowered Godzilla (OPG)
Musopticon? Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 I'll try; it's space opera. Not scifi. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. Xard Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 (edited) I thought that it was obvious (that SW is space opera) Don't try to explain weirness of space opera to be more accurate Actually, how do you categorize space opera Mus? I think that its fantasy instead of scifi, however, some always put it in scifi category. What's your opinion? Edited August 9, 2006 by Xard How can it be a no ob build. It has PROVEN effective. Musopticon? Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 (edited) Space opera? Well, there's probably a strict set of rules somewhere, but set genre specifications are anal, so my definition is kinda loose. To put it simply, anything that focuses on the leaps on technology that have been in the future and tries to explain them scientifically is scifi. Space opera on the other hand is pretty much space fiction. No technology is explained as such, it just is, like lightsabers of hyperdrive. Another example; Babylon 5 is very much scifi, while Firefly is space opera(or a cowboy story in space). Cowboy Bebop is space opera, most mecha series are space opera, Silver Surfer is space opera, so are Giraud's graphic novels and Dan Simmon't Hyperion, while on the other hand Star Trek is not. Some people characterize space opera as epic, but it doesn't have to be, although a lot of the stories do have galaxy-wide happenings and grand themes,, like fight between light and darkness and revenge. Such, is space opera. Edited August 9, 2006 by Musopticon? kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. I had to fight against blood thirsty wolves and rabid penguins to get my food. Zann Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 There's sound in space because the scenes would be boring without. Not only in SW but almost every sci-fi movie. Space fighters have wings because they need them as soon as they enter a planet atmosphere.
