No. Mother Earth kills Mother Earth. Everything we do is natural no matter how 'weird' we think it may be. Period.

In the end, it is ALL Mother Earth's fault.

Or, more realistically, we'll all be dead and it'll be future generations suffering.

See, there's always a silver lining.

There are none that are right, only strong of opinion. There are none that are wrong, only ignorant of facts

I think you underestimate human enginuity and downright pig-headed stupidity..

no matter what anyone throws at us, at least a handful of us always manages to climb out of the rubble... to repopulate the planet and start all over...

True, Ros.

Got to give the human race that much. We're nothing if not tenacious.

and I don't know these men I kill

I don't see what our behaviour has got to do with it. Mother Earth is a neglectful parent, and would squash us sooner or later no matter what happens or what we do. far better to get all industrialised, take what we need and get spacebound.

Has there been any progress in predicting earthquakes? Is it even thought to be possible? I'm sure the Japanese were working on something along those lines a few years ago.

Well maybe something about living on land that's created by fault lines has something to do with the locations.

I can't even begin to imagine how to prevent or avert earthquakes. The focus of most stuff on Extreme Engineering's been about building stuff that can withstand reasonabe weather and quakes.

Coming from you that's terribley ironic.

Your implication is totaly fallacious (as well as being bigoted), i.e. "Because God loves >Christians< more"; insert >Jews< and >Hindus< and any other theological demarcation you care to create.
