I dunno about you guys, but I think Levine really knows his ****. I'm urging those who read the first two lines and immediately jump to yummy screenshots to really read the thing. It's worth it. Very worth it.

Agreed.

I can't believe what he said about SS2 :p

How many people felt that game was hard?

Many.

SS2 was a baby walk. Even little babys and first-person-phobia endangered jerks like Volourn would have cried about it's easieness.

Bioshock is gonna rock! New video card, mobo and power supply just for you baby, just for you!!!!

If I can't run this, I'm going to buy it for my friends 360.

It'd be cheaper for me to upgrade than buy a 360. Yeah, aren't you all jealous of my wholesale hookup now!

Also.

Ken Levine's so dreamy!

Both artistically and graphically, this game looks great. Even the story and the design sounds great. The only thing that i'm worried about, is that the A.I. will turn out to be as radiant as in Oblivion.

And also, System Shock 2 was really hard, almost Ninja Gaiden hard to beat.

Ken Levine:  Yeah. There was a great period in the middle of the last century where there was a lot of people, Aldous Huxley, Orwell, Rand -- and Rand, she sort of obliquely wrote about utopia. There was a notion about utopia where, I don't think people buy utopia anymore, which is kind of a shame. Utopian almost invariably leads to distopia, and when I was a kid I was obsessed with Logan's Run.

IGN: Yes, I saw that and loved it when I was a kid, too. I look back on the movie now and think that movie must be so horrible now. (Laughter.)

Ken Levine: Yes, it's horrible, horrible. (Laughter.)

IGN: But the ideas were good.

Ken Levine: The ideas were good. Did you ever read the book? ... I was so obsessed with the book and the movie that, just a few years ago, I re-wrote -- just for fun -- a screenplay of the book the way I thought it should have been done. I knew it wasn't going to get made. I'm not in the film industry. I just did it because I wanted to because I was obsessed with it. Just the utopian notions were fascinating.

I concur; the fact that Levine was obsessed enough to re-write a screenplay bodes well for the writing of the game. This game just became a pre-order. :shifty:

Ken Levine: We had a similar vibe in System Shock 2 where, you know, the monsters -- and people weren't sure if it was going to work at the time -- but you would get a real sense of the monsters' humanity. You would find logs of them, where they would take you through the process turning from a human into something less or something more, depending on how you look at it. In BioShock, we're really taking that to the next step with that. We have actually been through some transitions in this. Originally, we just sort of made the monsters sort of "monstery" looking. And as they change they become more and more

What i meant, my dear meta, was that Bethesda promised and wanted to deliver the best, most revolutionary A.I. ever, but they didn't. But that doesn't mean it was the suckiest either.

Is this a 3rd-person view RPG?

no

It's a first person rpg horror shooter :)

Well, I guess I just lost my interest in that game. The only 1st person shooters I like to play are the Medal of Honor series.

Since we already have a 360 probably get this.

I dont recall anything particularly difficult about SS or SS2.

I have to agree with Volourn.  Bioware is pretty much dead now.  Deals like this kills development studios.

This game looks and sounds, for lack of a better word...amazing!

Pre-order! Definite pre-order!

And Ramza, why not get this? It seems brilliant.
