Rummy, quite unexpectedly, gets accused of being a liar by former CIA dude. I DIDN'T LIE!

 

The only good positive thing from Rummy here is that he actually wanted the guy to stay before the lynch ready mob around him was about to have him escorted out.

Rumsfield looked stumped, and searched for a creative answer but that CIA guy nailed him. If only bush would get into specifics like Rumsfield attempted. Everytime Bush is asked a question he gets all emotional and starts glorifying the war and drops the word intelligence a efw times. 32% approval rating still, pretty soon the congress will be pwnd by democrats me thinks.

We need to have a vote of no confidence against George W.

LOL, Rummy is a joke. A dangerous joke. I don't know what kind of blackmail photos he has in his safe deposit box, but I get the impression Rummy could actually blow up congress and set the Whitehouse on fire, and Bush STILL wouldn't recognize what an inept fool he is. Pathetic.

It's my belief that they need a large, ruddy-faced woman in a gingham dress to give them hugs. Then sit them down to a spread of possum, grit, cornbread and fried chicken.

IMO, Rummy's biggest failure was sticking to the NeoCon fantasy of a "light, nimble force" when, what was clearly needed, was an "overwhelming force" a la "the Powell doctrine".

 

also, the lack of suitable vehicles and armor for urban warfare is just unacceptable.

 

the overarching justification for the war may have been false but, it could be argued that, for a variety of reasons, we needed to assert our power in that region. I don't really have a problem with the concept of the second Iraq war. I have a problem with its implementation.

Light nimble wasn't the problem. It was actually a lack of infantry, IMO. You could still have used a light nimble force provided you attached a 'police' unit into the division structure to handle civilians in captured territory.

 

Having said that I don't approve of the light nimble idea when it comes to warfighting, and I agree that Rummy is an ass. But I'm not going to say so to his face.
