Well, it seems as if all current adventure games are French in origin.  I know Syberia is, and I think both The Longest Journey and Indogo Prophecy are as well.

Syberia and Amerzone were very nice and the concept art is breathtaking. The genre is at it's deaththroes financially, so I hope Paradise succeeds. I'm gonna play the demo and make my decision then.

Anyway, looks interesting, I haven't touched this genre since some game called Lighthouse? I think, not because I didn't enjoy the genre.

The Longest Journey (and Dreamfall) are Norwegian, not french.

The problem(for me) with adventure games is the severe lack of replayability. Why would I pay 50-60$ for something I can enjoy only once? The exception(so far, that I am aware of) is Indigo Prophecy.

So?  UbiSoft has a hand in its production so I will not be buying it.  I will not forget the PoOR2 fiasco.

I usually wait for prices to drop before buying adventure games. Got games like Syberia, Runaway, Fahrenheit and such for 20 bucks...

 

Having said that I look forward to this one, altough I am slighty worried about him making the game with less experienced designers and more with his own experience...

 

And Paradise seems to be more dangerous than the other mentioned ones (Fahrenheit and Dreamfall) because they are Action/Adventures and not point&Click and thus also have a potential fanbase on consoles where Paradise will not have it since it will do adventures the way adventures should be (even though I did enjoy Fahrenheit, mind you...)

If a game is good, I buy it.  If the publisher makes a ton of money with a style of game that I enjoy playing, then they'll be more likely to make another one like it.

 

Boycotting for the sake of boycotting is about as effective trade embargoes (i.e. not very).

I haven't bought or played an EA game since Ultima 9. I haven't bought or played a UbiSoft since the release of PoOR2. In both cases its been years since the event that triggered my boycotting. So far so good.
