GTA Vice City chose very well for its 80s Top 40 station

Vice City seems like a lifetime ago....but I actually have the OUtfield cd.

I had heard the song before the game, but I did not have the CD. The music in those games just really set the mood. I mean, driving a T-Top down the strip with that song on made me feel like I was in the 80s. And I didn't even get my license until grunge was dead and buried.

I never finished San Andreas... got sick of getting killed repeatedly near the end.

Matthew Sweet - Sick of Myself

edit: speaking of the 80s, I listened to Van Halen's 1984 in its entirety while doing stuff around the apartment last night. Classic.

I can't stand hearing 'Jump' anymore, but anytime 'Panama' (Panama!!!) or 'Hot For Teacher' comes on I really tend to turn up the stereo.

One billion b-balls dribbling simultaneously throughout the galaxy. One trillion b-balls being slam dunked through a hoop throughout the galaxy. I can feel every single b-ball that has ever existed at my fingertips. I can feel their collective knowledge channeling through my viens. Every jumpshot, every rebound and three-pointer, every layup, dunk, and free throw. I am there.

People laugh when I say that I think a jellyfish is one of the most beautiful things in the world. What they don't understand is, I mean a jellyfish with long, blond hair.

Modest Mouse - The Dark Center Of The Universe

Another of my favourite bands that was recently accused of selling out.

Bulldingo, really. Just because Float On became a minor hit doesn't mean they changed their music or style just to get more airplay. Float On is almost a typical Modest Mouse song, and the rest of the album is definately not geared to the mainstream. I have yet to meet a person that is not into indie that wasn't immediately turned away by This Devil's Work Day

Do they even understand what he's saying? I didn't...

Fort Minor - Where'd You Go?

Why am I listening to a rap group...and enjoying it? :)

You're not terribly good with accents, are you? His words are pretty clear, if you pay attention, and they were singing it with him for Christsakes!

I.e. (just written them down)

In my country there is trouble

And that trouble is transport

It take very very long

Because Kazakhstan is very big

Throw transport down the well

So my country can be free

We must make travel easy

Then we have a big party

In my country there is problem

And that problem is the Jew

They take everybody money

They never give it back

Throw the Jew down the well

So my country can be free

You must grab him by his horns

Then we have a big party

If you see the Jew coming

You must be careful with his (teeth?)

You must grab him by his money

And I'll tell you what to do

Throw the Jew down the well

So my country can be free

You must grab him by his horns

Then we have a big party

Also, Minor Fort?! Come on!

They're to rap what Kenny G is to Jazz!

Rap is awesome, awesome, awesome, and what you just implied would easily get you hanged in my court-room, boyo!

Oh...thought I was mistaking "Transport" for something Jewish... :(

All right, if not rap, what are they then?

How should I know, I was just trying to say they make soulless boring music.

Perhaps a more suitable analogy would have been "Fort Minor are to rap what Linkin Park are to Metal".

Mmm yes.

Sum 41 isn't Emo, My Chemical Romance might be, but I like them.

Just because people weren't using the term at the time the band came up doesn't mean it doesn't retroactively apply to them.

Metallica - Hero Of The Day

OMG I SOLD OUT. POST BLACK ALBUM METALLICA.
