Nice visuals, some nice exploration, plot is delivered nicely, nice music.... Horrible console style combat.

Next gen mode is laggy. It's like a bloodlines flashback.

Next gen mode runs good alot of the time, but sometimes just lags when you know it's not supposed to. I guess it's truly for next gen cards, which doesn't make any sense since my comp's more powerful than Xbox 360, which next gen is a port from.

I have 2 gripes with halflife 2, load times and theres to much driving for me. I like to explore personally. But the graphics are pretty. The water reflection is awesome, and so is hdr, although is there any hdr in Halflife2 besides lost coast?

No, although there is in DoDS and in some CSS maps. HL2Ep1 will have it as well.

It's a shame you're so anti-console, I think you'd totally love Deception.

I haven't done enough Darkside things. I like being total Darkside, you get that red star effect going in your background portrait but it makes your character look ugly.
