Azure79 Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 (note: That was because I got wild and bought about 20 games in one go, so it was because I had too many games, not so much because the game was boring... so this opinion could change on my next try) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm in Luv
CoM_Solaufein Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 20 games? You must well off finacially or were at the bargain bin. Darque Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 I tend to look for used games in excellent condition, first and foremost (unless it's a new release I really want, or from a series I collect - Read: Resident Evil)
SteveThaiBinh Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 I'd rate BG2 higher than BG, right up until the latter stages of Throne of Bhaal where there are too many stupid hard fights. The main city in BG2 (name escapes me) is head and shoulders above the design for Baldur's Gate City in the first game. Just my opinion, of course. Oh, and I tend to throw the packaging for games away the day I get them. It just takes up unnecessary shelf space. "An electric puddle is not what I need right now." (Nina Kalenkov)

You can't do that! I was contemplating buying the paperback version of the hardback book I just bought, so that I could read that instead of messing up my lovely hardcover ... 6 Foot Invisible Rabbit Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 The Black Isle made and published PC games were all top notch except for Lionheart. They all deserve a place in one's gaming library. Harvey
Gabrielle Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 The Black Isle made and published PC games were all top notch except for Lionheart. They all deserve a place in one's gaming library. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Except for PST. That deserves the dumpster.
Gabrielle Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 Is PS:T really that bad? I never played it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh yes my good man it certainly is. You get a premade character, a male with the name The Nameless One of all names. Big strike there for me. It has a boring story that you need to figure out why you died. The graphics are subpar, modding completely sucks. But it does have some good voice talent involved in it.
SteveThaiBinh Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 Is PS:T really that bad? I never played it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It was a terrible game, truly awful in every way. There was far too much well-written dialogue, and the whole thing was infested with interesting characters and concepts. There weren't nearly enough dungeons filled with hundreds of identical monsters for you to kill easily by randomly clicking your mouse in their general direction. "An electric puddle is not what I need right now." (Nina Kalenkov)
Llyranor Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 You couldn't even choose what color the protagonist's loincloth could be. Without such deep roleplaying options, it should be labelled a FPS. (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)

alanschu Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 Yes. I've struggled mightily for many years, but it seems that FIFA Soccery '97 is probably the most similar to Torment.
Haitoku Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 Is PS:T really that bad? I never played it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's more focused on creating very well thought out characters and a very interesting story... I know Gab hates it, since she is only use to games like BG.

Hurlshort Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 How do you not have offsides? Isn't that an option you can turn on and off?
SteveThaiBinh Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 In the patch, the off-side rule was downgraded to bug status and removed. "An electric puddle is not what I need right now." (Nina Kalenkov)
